After he accepted the quest, Akira typed in "Dog Digger's Heaven" into the console beside the Chaos Gate. After he entered the keywords, Breg Epona disappeared and was replaced by a vast, expansive field. For a moment he could have sworn he saw three shadowy figures in the distance, but shook the thought from his head. He began to search for the old man's dog...

After about an hour he found the dog, but with it he also found.....Haseo!?

"Well, if it isn't Haseo, The Terror Of Death. Didn't think I'd find you here."

Aramin checked the area log. The last transport made was by Haseo, Matsu, and Atoli. The area words were Dogs Digging Heaven. Now came the moment of truth; Haseo and Matsu were both powerful players, and they had a Cleric with them. Aramin was good, but he usually wasn't good enough to take on three players at once. Still, it could be fun.

Especially if I take out the Cleric first. They won't be quite so hard to take down if she's not there to heal them.

Aramin waited a few seconds to give them a head start and make sure he could follow them incognito until he was ready to strike. Then he entered the same words and waited for the field to materialize before him.

Haseo instinctively spun around and said, "Who are you?" He noticed the man wasn't the one he saw before he left Breg Epona, but he looked malicious all the same. Although, one thing troubled Haseo; this man didn't have that always determined look that PKers always gave him. It was refreshing to see someone who wasn't so bent on destroying him, but he couldn't put himself at ease yet; he didn't know where this man's loyalties lie.

He moved around in front of Atoli, obviously intending to protect her, and said to Matsu, "Be on your guard." His scythe materialized out of nowhere, black as night and with a yellow-ish blade. Red markings were etched upon the surface of the metal as well. If anyone knew Haseo well enough, they definitely knew this scythe. The scythe was one of the Lost Weapons, its particular enchantment allowing Haseo to steal life and mana from his enemy upon strike, and its blade extremely sharp. Though he thought it well-advised by his own mind to fight alone, his own resolve told him it was a bad idea. That black clad man still had yet to show up, and if he arrived in the middle of his fight with this man, Haseo wouldn't be able to fight them off.

Aramin stood behind a rock. The dog was before him about fifty feet. Haseo and his party were right next to the dog. Only one thing kept him from attacking: there was another person by them.

Aramin knew when to attack and when to wait. This was the time for waiting, at least until he could discern this new man's intentions. Violence would be preferable, but alliance would muck things up something serious. He had to wait for the next move...

"Haseo. I've been trying to meet you for some time. You're well known in 'The World' you know." Akira said to Haseo as he drew his Gunblade. "I've been waiting for the chance we may be able to battle." Akira knew he was getting in over his head, because Haseo had two other players with him. They were of little consequence to him, but the Cleric could still prove troublesome. As if it was a gift from a higher power, another player appeared from nowhere. "You...are you here to fight Haseo, too?"

Aramin took the drawing of a weapon as "hostile intentions" and approached the group quickly. A five-man fight got confusing quickly, and he planned to use this confusion to his advantage.

The Gunner took a look at him and asked him something or other, but Aramin's blood was pumping so loudly in his ears that he didn't hear a thing. He instead drew his blades with a wrist flick and lunged at Atoli's back, attempting to take her out with a single attack.

Haseo cursed under his breath as the previous man had drew his gun, but a latter man had appeared, also intent on fighting. To this, Haseo cursed even louder, until he noticed the man lunge at Atoli. He brought his scythe around to block the attack and screamed, "Reaper's Touch!" Haseo charged the remaining couple of feet between him and the Dual Sword wielder, slashed him with his scythe, hit him up in the air, brought his scythe around, and slammed the man into the ground.

As all this was going on, Matsu charged the other man, the Gun wielder. He raised his blade above his head and brought it down upon the man. Matsu underestimated him, however, and then man quickly brought his own gun up and shot Matsu straight in the chest. Atoli flinched and let out a squeak. Matsu got up his own, he was fine, and said, "Heh, slick moves, but you shouldn't think too highly of yourself. We're both Gun wielders, but I'm an Adept Rogue." he said again, aiming his gun and charging a skill. "Tempest Blast!"

((Sorry for controlling your character a bit Soren, but hey, at least it was in your favor. :P))

OOC: Urm...Deselin? You're controling other people's characters...That's a major no-no on just about every RP under the sun. It's a simple thing now, but I just thought I'd let you know before it got out of hand.

Aramin hit the ground and pushed himself up, flipping and landing on his feet.

"Nice. I knew I was going to enjoy this."

The Twin Blade made a single lunge forward, right towards Haseo, but instead of attacking, he disappeared at the last moment.

Windwalker

From behind Haseo Aramin jabbed his blade at Haseo's back. If the attack hits it will automatically critical, doing teriffic damage.

((I know, that's the reason I apologized. I've been RPing a lot longer than my post count would have you believe. :P Look up Deaths_Legion on this forum, that was my previous account. I needed ito do it, though, introduce Matsu, and that he was an Adept Rogue, because Soren, as far as I know, has not played the game yet. Besides, it wasn't a bad use of his character, it's not like I killed him off or anything. Oh, and the attack against you hit automatically because it was a skill used against an attack on a party member, therefore a Rengeki Counterattack. Or a counterattack all the same, since you didn't use a skill, I don't think.))

Haseo braced for the attack with pole of his scythe being used as a shield, but as the attack neared him, the man vanished. Haseo thought he saw a flick of movement behind him momentarily, and spun just in time to catch the blow from hitting his back, but he wasn't fast enough to avoid the blow altogether. He was sent sprawling onto the floor, but didn't waste any time, and with the built up momentum from the blow, he flipped backwards and onto his feet once again. The scythe quickly disappeared and a massive, double-edged sword appeared in both Haseo's hands. For a second, it looked as though no human being would be able to lift the thing, but with amazing ease, Haseo brought it up over his head and smashed it into the ground, creating a shockwave that sped toward his attacker.

EDIT: ((PS: I'm not sure if Pip added it to the rules thread, but there is a 40 word limit to RP posts. Yours was dangerously close to the threshold, so would you mind increasing the detail just a bit?))

OOC: Uh, actually, I meant the part where you hit my character without any chance of evasion. The Reapers Touch isn't a surfire move. Come to think of it, I don't think there is an always-hit attack in .hack, besides the higher Awakenings.

Ah, just as would be expected of a Rogue. Gotta keep on my toes.

Aramin noticed the slow, powerful attack long before it reached him. He leapt right over it and landed at a dead sprint, diving towards Haseo with both blades before him. It was a risky attack, but it would deal terrible damage if it hit.

At least he's keeping it fun.
