Default How Does The Class System Work? >.<

I've read so many responses about 'I don't know how it works, the game was very vague' so before I dive into it, can someone explain it please? Thanks. <3

Oh and since I hear about 'subclasses' what would be good for a Thief?

I new to this game too (and even to this forum)...

but so far i think the basic class system consists of 12 classes (excluding Citizen and this is according to the NA version)
Blademaster - best damage dealer
Fencer (i'm not sure if this is available)
Doctor - healer
Mercenary - 1st or 2nd when it comes to tanking
Hunter - possibly used to pull (?), basically ranged attacker
Martial Artist - class with highest hp, and i hear it is pretty good at solo (and sufficient for tanking)
Musician - the class that gives out the buffs
Dancer (i'm not sure if this is available)
Thief - highest evasion rate yet also very fragile
Wizard - ??? (my assumption is the stereotypical mage)
Shaman - ???
Witch Doctor (i'm not sure if this is available)

The class system in DOMO is interesting, because a single character can actually be all classes (but not at once).

Firstly, you will start off as a Citizen and this class is essential for Crafting skills (herding, mining, etc).

After you reach level 10 with your Citizen class then you can go for other classes.

All classes will start at level 10 with various starting stats. (i.e. if you leveled your character's Citizen class to 15 and changed your job to Doctor then your Doctor level will be level 10)

You can switch classes whenever you want... that is if you reached level 10 for Citizen and met various requirements for each individual class.

'Subclass' is interesting cause (I believe) you're not limited to just one class

The 'subclass' system revolves around what skill sets you have invested in previous jobs (such as Mercenary's Equip Heavy Armor Skill will allow another class be able to equip heavy armor when previously their class wouldn't permit it)

You are given 2 active slots, 2 passive slots, and 1 counter attack slot to allocate various 'sub' skill sets...

dam...i think this is more confusing, just play the game and ask a bunch of people... if you have played mmorpg before then this game shouldn't be too hard to get use to.

i'm not sure what subclass would be good for a thief, but possibly some healing skill set might be nice when soloing...

and check out aeria forum, a lot more people who knows about this game more than I do

...sorry for being confusing ^^

no no you have pretty much cleared it up.

basically, 12 classes mentions above, is ur main class. the skills in ur main class are 100% power. then u pick a sub class- say doctor. u can use the healing skills in doctor if ur main is a blade master. but the cool down time for doc skill is doubled. u can always switch back to ur main and ur sub classes back and forth to lvl them individually. u can be a like a 39 blade master, and a lvl 25 doctor.

it kinda reminds me of the final fantasy tactics job system, only you can get all the jobs from the get go.

for the shamans, they're elementalists, with pretty good damage attacks, and an extremely quick cooldown, so basically, shamans are spammers. good thing is, you do need an extra item to perform skills. AoE attacks come at 29 for the shaman.

wizards, are slighlty more powerful than shamans apparently (wouldn't know, never played one myself, shamans ftw >.<). the have pretty good AoEs, but need scrolls to cast spells.

on the classes that havent come out yet...donno if they have already, been so long since i played, but anyway: dancer, the best AoE attacks in game. or at least, they were. the reason why they weren't released was cos the AoEs were to powerful, and are apparently being nerfed.

witch doctors...donno much about them, but that they use this things called voodoo poison bugs to cast spells.

another thing about the magic classes. Except for the shaman, all the rest use an item to cast one family of spells.

Class: Wizard spell family: scrollcasting item needed: scrolls
Doctor Hocus Croakus (punny no?) frogs
Witch Doctors not really sure Voodoo poison bugs.

All of which can be bought from shops or other players, from 2-4 gold, depending on the demand and supply at the time.

[edit: wow...possibly my longest post...ever...]

Hmm those classes sound a little interesting. I might just have to try this game out.

You Can Change Classes. Best Thing To Do Is To Keep All Classes At A Good Level (If You Are A Grind Master) Or Choose The Combinations. For Example
Martial Artists Need Alot Of Mana. So Theif Would Be A Good Sub-Class.
You Can Take The Mp Skill And Put It In The Slots While Ure An Martial Artist.

Overall, I Think This Game Has A Very Unique Class System
