Tylina left the tent and took a place beside everybody else, she had been waiting for this battle for a long time, and now it was finally here. She couldn't help but feel excited, but deep down she was afraid, as well.

She turned her head toward the other fighters and asked, "So, tell me again; what kind of enemy are we going against? I want to know what type of foot soldiers we're fighting. Gotta have all bases covered, you know..."

As their commander came over to him and Jallas, Jamas knelt down to one knee and rested his spear upright before him. His mind was crisp as ever, and he surveyed the enemy as he waited. The most important part of the battle; victory or death would be decided in these beginning moments. After first contact, a battle was anyones game.

"So, tell me again; what kind of enemy are we going against? I want to know what type of foot soldiers we're fighting. Gotta have all bases covered, you know..."

Jamas thought a moment before answering her question. "It is likely that they will initiate the fighting with a combination of pikemen and swordsmen, to disrupt our cavalry's attempts to flank them, and then try to use their own cavalry to make chaos with our archer battalions. All the while, their own archers and artillery will be raining havoc upon our infantry." He glanced over to Dolosus. "At least, thats how I would do it. I have not, however, fought the Empire for some time. I may be out of date with their tactics."

Dolosus shook his head, and looked at Jamas.

"I've fought with them all my life. Yes, they'll be using tactics similar to that. However, we'll not be in the middle of things like we were. I'm aware of some of the tactics the Imperials use against flanks." He looked over to Tylina. "There will be a small formation, no more than twenty, armed with short swords, torches and crossbows and bows. They'll kill any guards - that means us, in this case, but that won't happen - and they'll torch any tents that stand in their way. In the case of the wounded in the medical tents, they'll carry them off to their camps where they'll hear and they'll be put to slave use."

Dolosus shrugged.

"Keep a sharp eye on that dune. They'll be cresting that."

((Jeez guys, completely forgot about the RP section. Sorry...guess I have to catch up.))

Jallas stood, again lost in his thoughts, but torn between reality and memories. He heard what everyone was saying, but none of it registered with him for he was too busy searching his mind.

When everyone was done speaking, Jallas shifted on his feet and brought the bow off of his shoulder. He then pulled an arrow out of the quiver hanging on his back, rather than the one at his side which contained unfeathered arrows. The unfeathered arrows flew too carelessly, and he was already an average shot as it was. Jallas only kept them with him for closer encounters. He nocked the feathered arrow.

He waited a while, hoping that the fight wouldn't start soon. No matter how many times he had fired his bow, when it was at the cost of another's life, it never seemed right to him. He looked to his commander and asked, "Any specific targets?" He needed to know their own tactics before he was ready for battle.

Ty shifted her focus to the dune Dolosus mentioned, she could tell that the enemy would be rushing through at any moment.

"Crossbows and Bows, eh? Seems like we may want to try to take them out first." She grinned as she held one of her small daggers in her hand.

"Oh, and try not to die by the basic infantry..."

"If there are archers, Jallas, shoot them if they have flaming arrows. If not, aim for the crossbowman, if there are any, because their bolts can pierce our shields. After that, I want you to run over to the east up that dune. You should have a few clear shots towards anyone trying to run into the medical tent, since we're going to move the fight to the east." He raised his voice. "Hear that? We're going to push them towards the east ((that's left of the entrance of the medical tent, btw)) so Jallas can have some clear shots."

He thought he felt a drop on his neck and held his arm out. None yet.

At another time, Jamas would have grinned at the girl's flip remark, especially in light of the current situation, but his mind was ready and prepared for killing, and he focused on keeping his concentration sharp. He listened carefully to his commander's instructions, both to Jallas and to the rest of them, and nodded his understanding. If everything went well, this part of the battle should be done and over quickly.

He double-checked the straps on his shield, and hefted his spear in his right hand. Bending his legs a little in anticipation of sudden speed, he was ready.
