Introduction

Hello everyone. Well quite clearly from the title, this is a thread about my CABAL Online clan by the name of "Osmium Faction". This is a relatively new guild that I created around the time cabalSEA was announced to be arriving. I managed to recruit about 50+ members from South East Asia, but I'm fairly sure that cabalSEA will set up an IP ban shortly after closed beta. So now I move the guild back over to USA/Canada CABAL. Now, let's get with some more detailed information about the guild.

What type of clan is Osmium Faction?

Osmium Faction is a more low-down/relaxed type of clan. I do not plan to shoot to have the top players of USA in this guild. I will eventually implement a level limit when the guild grows, but for now I leave it as a clan suitable for the casual player.

The main purpose of my clan, however, is to take beginners and transform them into pros. I do not want a guild of only professionals who have played other versions of CABAL - that wouldn't be much fun at all. Of course, some pros are necessary for the guild to develop and mature, but I wish for the bulk of members to be beginners. I feel that a group of people that grow together work much better in the end.

Ok, so why the title "Osmium Faction"?

Osmium is the 3rd best material of items in CABAL. Above it are Red Osmium (Shineguard/Mystic/Terragrace for the armor), and Mithril. I always like to relate guild names to the game I play rather than invent some random word(s) that sound cool, or rip a name from an anime or popular show (no offense intended towards any guilds out there, this is just my personal preference). Osmium is also a perfect representation of the type of guild I wish to have. Osmium is not the best, but it is still very good. Osmium is also a lot more common than Red Osmium or Mithril which makes it a material for the more casual player rather than the perfectionist.

And just what kind of merit do you have for being a clan leader?

I played the closed beta version of global CABAL back one year ago. In 2 weeks of CBT, I achieved level 79 as a blader, also obtaining master sword rank and apprentice magic rank. I also played kCABAL for a short time, up to level 31 I believe. But I left it since I did not feel comfortable with the legal issues of KSSNs.

I have a fair amount of knowledge about CABAL. I wrote a large guide about CABAL that reflects everything I know about CABAL. I posted it here on these forums, but apparently it didn't get much attention. It is about 59 pages long on microsoft word. As for the actual guide, you can find it here:

This was something I decided to do to help out new members of my guild, or just any CABALers in general, to learn about CABAL before playing it. A headstart so to speak.

As I stated above, I have recruited 50+ people from South East Asia, and hope to compile similar amounts of members from USA before the CBT releases.

When it comes to leadership, I am a member of something known as Honor Society which is club for students who excel in academics, out of school activities, and leadership. I was also a moderator on a Lunia fan forum.

Since I'm at it, I might as well give a personal profile about myself. I am a 17 year old Chinese American residing in Michigan. I like to challenge myself in school - I am taking 4 AP courses for my senior year at high school. I hold a decent but less than perfect GPA of 3.87 up to this point and have been accepted into U of M: Ann Arbor. Aside from school, I enjoy sports such as tennis, soccer, and snowboarding. My gaming history includes Maple Story, Flyff, GunZ, Lunia, DragonGem, Ghost Soul, Gunster, Seal Online, and, of course, CABAL. I wouldn't label myself an expert at MMORPGs, but I'm fairly sure that I am above the average gamer in terms of skill (whatever skill may be involved in playing games) and adapting to new styles and features.

Basically everything else you would need to know is provided in the forums, so I leave it to interested individuals to check it out at their free will.

One last side note is that I wish to have 50 to 80 members in this clan.
