Default which should be more restricted on t.v. sex or violence??

Eva Longoria once said on the Oprah Winfrey show that she choosed sex over violence, which is more pleasant to watch compared to the latter, i think (prefer watching straight people too). But i think either of these two are dangerous to children especially if they're not guided properly which results to crimes, so i think parent should ought to know what their kids are watching nowadays. Just my opinion, what's yours??

Well for the children, I say sex should be more restricted.

Although obviously they will find out about both of them sooner or later whether by video games or the internet, etc.

This is a very debatable topic, but why bring it here? Some people here still are kids and their views will be biased.

yeah, i know that's inevitable that's why parents should be there to explain the situation and get the answers straight from them rather than getting it from someone else and yeah this feels awkward(to some) talking about this to their parents..

If you had actually thought that statement through, you'd realize how ****ed up it was.

Given the choice, I'd say restricting violence makes more sense. Which do you think would traumatize a kid more: seeing a man brutally murdered and maimed, or a couple going at it (not hardcore porn though)? It's quite bizarre how our society choses what's appropriate for tv. You have shows like CSI where they depict very realistic and grusome cases with half eaten corpses and the like, but god forbid a woman show her breasts for fear someone's gonna pop a chubby.

Really though, I don't think either should be restricted. It's not the media's responcibility to look out for the children, that's what parents should be doing. They have tons of crap now that can block access to certain channels, TV ratings, or websites. Parents need to ****ing take responsibility for their kids and stop blaming the media.

I think sex should be more restricted than violence. Even little 10 yrs old kids aren't bothered by violence..

And why do you think that is? Because violence is hardly sensored. You see violence all the time on practically every show. But if a girl takes her top off, uh-oh, it automatically becomes pornography.

I personaly cant stand sensorship, and believe that if parents took a little bit more responsibility instead of just popping their kids down on the couch for the day and use the TV as a babysitter while they are at work, we wouldnt have to have so much sensorship on TV.

Unfortunately, too many parents won't take responsibility.

My response, limit sexual and violent shows to past 9 o'clock no matter what time zone, and continue giving proper warnings before the show starts.
