I get this message when I try to connect to Monster Hunter

I don't think my comp installed the japanese pack... x.x

But... Then how do you do Gathering quests then? Theres absolutely NO way of being able to tell what item you need to get, or if it's an egg quest, or ANYthing...

I mean, I bought myself a hammer and then tried to go on a quest and suddenly all the stuff I had gathered from the previous (meat) quest was gone and I had the hunting knife instead of the hammer. How could it POSSIBLY be "easy to play just fine" when that sort of thing happens and you have no idea why or what or how. You guys make it seem like everything is blatently shown to you in some universal way and not purely in japanese text... Where is it shown then? I mean, I can't even ask because I have no idea whether the person is English or not meaning I can never ask anything and I don't even know how to go to an "empty" server because I don't know how to bloody read the text that would tell me where it is! If it's "easy" then what the hell is the easy part this is driving me to tears...

Ledgem, when you do a basic gathering, hunting, etc, from those pop-up quests im pretty sure itll always give you the Hunter's Knife, and i found NOTHING in this game easy to translate in any way i mean ive played all the English Monster Hunter's but this one is impossible, and anyway. For everyone else playing this game in English or outside of japan, Isnt it illegal to use the VPN this way?

I'm not sure if this has been posted here yet, but this website helped me a lot: http://miraclebutterfly.himegimi.jp/mh_dos.html It has a bunch of translations that can help make the language barrier seem less intimidating.

My friend and I have been playing this for a week or two. We're around HR13. We're finding a lot of the monsters difficult to defeat through, and realized that it's only going to get harder as we go on. So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing with us? We bought a Ventrilo server (with like, an 8-person cap?) just for this game and we're hoping to build up an active group of players (preferably with a mic!). So yeah, if you have a mic and are interested, please PM me for info or message me on AIM at Tatsujinken.

Edit: In game name is also Tatsujinken

lol you did the tutorial quest not the real quest, that why you get the tutorial sword and not able to keep your item.

edit: also post your in game name if you need help, someone in our community already reach endgame-level *stare at Wizja*

Oh... theres something along the lines of what I was looking for... I knew there was an item/etc guide for MH somewhere... This should help a lot...

Also, sorry for the outburst... I tend to get quite panicky when frustrated in a way that leaves me clueless and sorrowful...

Anyway, since I'm about to finish my last exam of the semester I'll probably be able to actually PLAY (more than an hour or so...) and with that guide and some help from my japanese-knowing friend I WILL GET BETTER AT THIS. I never planned on giving up, but god is it scary...

The level cap is 999 now lol, he's still got a long way to go last time I checked..I couldn't do that, I got tired of MH a month or two ago when I hit 111. Need more content =/

Can someone help me with typing Japanese font in game? I have Japanese IME and everything and have tried setting my unicode thingy to Japanese but everything comes out as ????? when I type.

Sadly , he never got a answer to his prob . I have my unicode set to Japanese , time set to Osaka and that thing still not working !
