Well, about the vpn thing, if I think I know what a vpn is, you just need a japanese address. Perhaps we should try different VPNs like the default one.

Also, elazul, the time you posted that was 2am for me ><

If anyone's curious, I concocted this entertaining armor set for anyone that's bored and wants to try and crank out the most damage as possible. I call it: psycho armor (because you have to be insane to use this set to its fullest potential).

Basically, you need two key skills to make it work: max attack buff (+25 damage) and Adrenaline+2 (when your health drops below 40%, +30% to attack and +90 to defense). These two compound on each other, and you go even higher from sharpness bonuses and attack buffs from items/songs. So if you ever drop below 40%, pop in an attack buff and go to town on whatever was wailing on you.

Right now I know of a psycho series you can make for gunners with the Heimata Type-S series (although this won't happen till the advanced server, and need a 2-slot bow/gun) and for warriors with the Battle Type-S series (you need a 3-slot weapon to obtain it though, and advanced server only)

Found a working VPN server thats much more stable.

You really won't get Disconnected with this one (stayed in town for about a half and hour, no problems.)

Hi, I just want to start by saying thank you very much for making this guide! I've been looking for something like this since the game came out, and in my book you are a god!
However it seems that I cannot manage to log in, the first time i tried to log in i got to the point where it tried to load, but stayed at 0% (on the picture of the hunter turning the spit) After exiting and restarting Monster Hunter I now keep getting this error message popping up, when i try to log in. I would post a screenshot but it's not even in japanese text, just jibber-jabber.
I will keep trying for now, but if anyone knows a thing or two about this, please let me know!

setting your default unicode to JPN would help first

But anywho, there's a maint. session going on right now that won't be over till midnight EST, so try to log in again past that time

You don't need to do that but if you ever do have an error, you'll need to do it or we won't understand it. Remember to set your time to japanese. Also, view this thread made by Gren.

By the way, has anyone had trouble connecting to softether or mobilefree? I keep getting an error now saying that the clients' and hosts' clocks are not synchronized, despite being on osaka time
