Default Suggestion: against referrals and trolls

Why cant we have certain features that relate to post count.

In many of the forums I am a mod of, they have features where mebers of a low post count cannot post links, codes, or even signatures and avatars.

It would be an ideal feature here.

Examples:Anything below 100 posts cannot post links, use certain posting features (color, fonts, and so on), pics and such, avatars, and signatures.

101 to 300 they can have a avatar, 200 character sig, and post links.

The higher the post count the more posting rights they can earn.

Sorry if this isnt the proper place for this, but I am starting to get annoyed by these referral links and vulgar posters.

You're right. People over 2,00 posts should be able to ban people with 200 posts.

It all evens out!

Thats a bit extreme.....lol.

But on the other hand, to prevent trolls...... you can click on a "troll" button, where the next 5 posts they create have to be over 1000 characters long.....Non-repetative characters.

You would need at least a # of members to click this "troll" button to work.

Just have a report troll kind of thing where after 10 votes or whatever the thread is cut and removed into like a Mod only forum where they can review and take further action (ie put it back into the original forum where it cant be reported again (to avoid abuse), deleted permanently, ban OP, etc)

Of course frequent abusers will be banned or warned whatever and users with over X amount of posts are able to vote.

theres a suggestions forum here, which im guessing is checked mostly by admin and not other members.

also, there already is a report button. its the little red triangle thing, it alerts mods.

i think cyber's ideas are good ones. post count should affect forum privaleges, but one problem might be people makg lots of spam posts or posts which are right on the margin of being spam just so they can access certain features.

i definately think that people with 1-10 posts shouldnt be able to post links. i mean, when you see someone posting a link and they have 5 posts and no avatar or sig you can pretty much bet your *** those other 4 posts are spammed links as well.

The idea sounds nice, however you are also appyling this to the privilege of avatars and signatures which I think is a bad idea. Also I wouldn't suggest a high post count like that. I'd be okay with a low one like 50. Then it would at least take 25 minutes for a person to post a link or whatever and if his posts are spam he will probably be reported and banned before he can post the links or whatever.

Which would make it better to be posted here so that we can discuss it.

Avatars and signatures can have vulgar pics, gifs, or even links to referrals and such.
