how the hell do you expect them to like a game so deepth and complex as FF:XI?

whoever said first that WoW is the McDonalds of online gaming should be awarded a nobel... thats what losers want, a "fast food" nobrain game they can master with the half brain god gifted them
You assume a lot and the rest is pure flame nice work.

I myself have never played FFXI and now I've read a bit I'd love to give it a go.

As for WoW it offers a lot of things to do if you choose to do them, yes characters can be easy to play but at the same time you can change your style of play (to make it more interesting/involved) e.g. Mages single target kills can differ greatly to AOE killing. You have leveling, different talent trees (61 points to spend at level 70) e.g. Ice/Fire/Arcane or combinations of 1 or more for mages (all classes 3 trees), professions/jobs/crafting items, mounts, pvp and pvp rewards, big raids (10, 20, 25 and 40) and loot, small 5 mans and loot, solo play and loot, reputation gaining and loot, you don't have to play in groups you can solo to get good items, it's really up to the player, Solo players won't see the same quality of items unless they craft and or pvp compared to pure raiders, but crafting and pvp can help casual or hardcore players. Now you can't say with all that this that the game lacks depth, whether you like it or not is up to you, but it does have a lot of stuff to do even after you hit max level (half the shit I'm to lazy to do lol)

I've been playing online games for years now my first being Lineage 1's beta from that point on I've play all kinds beta's p2p and f2p and WoW keeps bringing me back, maybe it's just the people.. nope it's not just that, the game is well built but like anything thing it gets old, WoW just happens to bring new things do now and then by giving big upgrades.

Just to finish up there are some good games out there I've tried and some I would probably put ahead of WoW but the people you play with can make a great difference to how much you like a game.

This thread had turned into a non factual flame a thon, try putting a little thought into your posts, show us something.
