I disagree, if you don't stand up for yourself you'll get pushed around.

So when you get singled out because of your race, and because like most of the world, they don't categorized everyone the same... what do you do?

Do you do what you did here and even side with the guy. Or do you stand up for yourself?

I think respecting your background and history comes first.

I'm not a gangster either, but I'm at least proud I'm black.

If someone singles you out because of your race try to avoid them. Standing up for your race isn't going to make to solve anything.

I don't believe "standing up" is always the wise choice. That isn't exactly much different then the racist bigots or whomever else, who are being such.

Sometimes you just walk away, with your dignity and pride. That is being the stronger man, and I think that is a far better way to stand up for yourself.

Hmm...Well well well. Your views are correct in my eyes. Seeing people as people and not colors. Although there is still racism at large all over the world. Sometimes you gotta back your race. Who cares if it forces us apart when obviously you're getting verbally owned by a racist. You're just defending yourself. If anything, you shouldn't have just taken it. If you ain't gonna stand up for your people, at least stand up for yourself. Don't just sit there like a wounded puppy and let this guy dick slap you...

To me this is what I call "the small stuff" so don't sweat it.If he doesn't want to be friends then don't be friends,its simple as that.I haven't really met a racist person before.I've been cool with everybody.Mostly because not only am I black but also because half my family is white.But w/ the skin color you couldn't tell.But even now I have family that are temporaily "racist" whenever we don't have money to lend them
