There is something you are overlooking however... All, and i mean all numbers come from blizzard. There is no way anyone else can know Blizzards own active subscriber number. Thats like me telling you how much change you have in your pocket, i can only guess but only you would know the exact amount.
For this reason, you are passing up Blizzards press release of over 9 million in favor of other websites that would not know the exact number because they are not the ones who own the servers, the services or the game.
Does that make any sense?
In early march they had around 8.5 mill... July they passed the 9 mill. Its not that hard to understand really.
My guess is you are getting your figures from either incorrect resources or they are old.
