Total opposite at my high school, all the "emo"'s (although it is not the correct term here) don't watch anime (not that many in the first place). No goths though (all of them pretty much "disappeared, whether graduated or expelled). The ones that do watch animes are the "smart people", the "game addicts", the "gangsters", and the "jocks".
Yes, this sounds unbelievable but a majority (about 60%) of the jocks and gangsters watch anime strangely enough. Some of these guys smoke and take drugs (as well as constantly fight) but they talk about anime all the time.
