Season 2 is starting

Season 2 has started, my torrent for ep 2 is almost done.

Also, if you want a great action based sci-fi anime that has excellent music, watch "Macross Frontier." Only 2 eps out, and the show is still heavily packing one fight scene with many twists and powerful battle scenes. Didi I mention the music.

I can't wait for ep 3!

well, I'd recommend Shakugan no Shana, or maybe even when the higurashi cry...even though that anime is only about 24 episodes, lol

I do not know what everyone has said, but I KNOW Higurashi is WAY bloodier and slightly more interesting than Death Note. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni are basically neverending murders chained to a secret even that occures constantly on the Cotton Festival, as it is translated in english. One that night, someone always dies and someone is always the killer.

In Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai is basically the sequel to Higurashi No Nako Koro Ni, with all the answers and summaries of Higurashi No Nako Koro Ni, concluding the never-ending deaths as well.

I never saw all of Higurashi No Naku Ni, but I have seen all of Higurashi No Naku Ni Kai, and some of Death not; I think you will enjoy it, the first episode of Higurashi No Naku Ni Kai's opening being of a boy smashing dead bodies with a bat and leading into the story (not revealing too much for you, right?)

You're getting confused.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is the first season, the first "arc" of that one is what you said above:

If you go for Higurashi, don't jump into Kai. Start with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, which is 26 episodes. After that you can watch Kai, which is 24 episodes.

I heard theres suppose to be a 3rd season sometime? (correct me if I'm wrong...) and there is the live action movie, which I hear is really bad

The english version of it is called When They Cry (or if you're a translation freak:When Cicadas Cry) sadly the only episodes I saw for the first season in english were 1-14, not sure if it'll be fully translated anytime soon, or if they'll even translate Kai in the future.

Well, Higurashi and Higurashi Kai >.< I watched Higurashi Kai though, and some of Higurashi @_@ I skip around a lot...

Yeah, its meant for Higurashi first, to confuse you, make you wonder WTF is going on, and make you want more. Then Higurashi Kai, to tell the story so you really know whats happening.
