I wonder why everyone only recognizes Code Geass NOW , when it first started barely anyhow was talking about it, and when i was recommending it people were like "what's code geass"? (not limited to this forum)
hmmmm wonder when people started catching on

Berserk.(Yes, I know, I'm always promoting Berserk but this time it's because what he asked for is all of what Berserk is, fightsy, gothic, and mysterious) It's old, but it's still the best anime I've seen so far. Then again I haven't watched anything new really, Death Note was one of the last big ones I've seen and that was good up to about epi 10 and then it started to go downhill. I don't really like any of the newer stuff because it's waaaaaay too poppy.

Macross Frontier really stands out for me this season. The story isn't anything special, but for some reason its very enjoyable and addicting. 2nd season of code geass is still good, but I can't help but feel its like a notch lower than the first season in terms of story and twists. I didn't even know what to think when they made his sister the governor. It just felt odd and out of place, aside from the fact that because she's blind they can't use geass on her so her memory can't be brainwashed like lelouche's was.

they are just building up to the big super orgasmic battles in the middle of hte season

Monster

is the best anime of all time and no one can argue that until they watch it...by then they will agree with me..

it is pure genuis for the plot settings and characterization....

74 episodes of pure epic non filler content..

some info on it

Dr. Tenma is a Japanese brain surgeon working in Germany. He has it all: incredible medical skills, a great job, and a beautiful fiancée who also happens to be the daughter of the hospital's director.

One day he is ordered to forgo operating on a critically injured man in favor of a more illustrious patient. Disillusioned by the hospital's politics, he decides from then on that he will do what he thinks is right, regardless of politics.

Some time later, a young boy and his twin sister are brought in. The boy has a bullet in his head and requires an operation that Dr. Tenma knows only he is capable of performing successfully. Just as Dr. Tenma is about to begin the procedure, the mayor is rushed into the hospital and the director instructs Dr. Tenma to leave the boy to operate on the critically ill mayor. Dr. Tenma decides that he will do what is right and go ahead with the boy's operation.

The young boy's operation ends in success but the surgeons operating on the politician fail. As a result, Dr. Tenma is passed over for a promotion and his fiancée calls off their engagement.

Soon after this incident, strange murders begin to occur, all of which benefit Dr. Tenma greatly. As a result, he becomes the prime suspect although the police have no evidence against him. It seems that the boy whose life he saved is heavily involved in it somehow and that there is much more to him than meets the eye.
