"Ready!" Lumi beamed with excitement, then recalled what the dying man announced.

"Researchers....capital......experiments......peop le into.....monsters.....uagh!" Then the man's head tilted back and became limp as he stopped breathing.

"So we are going to the village to the south known as Ahm," Lumi repeated in a dazed state, before changing her expression and the topic. "Wait, that man said something about the capital. Yeah, something about and experiment that turned people into monsters! What do you think he means? That the soldiers are using mages they found as experiments, and turning them into those shadowy beast? What if there are more roaming around? Do they just go after mages or everyone in general, including the innocent? Well, I guess none of us would know, now would we? Ah, well, there is no need to worry about it! Sorry I killed the mood. Let's go!"

"I'm not sure" Algus replied. "All we can do for now is head south to Ahm" he said as they began to walk south. He unsheathed his sword and kept it at his side incase any monsters decide to come there way.

After a few hours of walking, they finally made it to Ahm. "We're here" Algus said to the group. "First, let's go to the Inn. I'll rent us a room. You guys can go look around town, if you'd like" he continued before heading towards the small Inn. He entered the wooden building and passed through the tavern, and found the innkeepers desk. "I'd like to rent a room for three, please." he said. "Understood, just one moment" he said as he went towards the back room. "And what is your name?" he asked as he came back to the desk. "Algus Zeredit" Algus replied. "Understood. Our maid will prepare your room now. Please enjoy yourself while you wait" the Innkeeper said, smiling warmly. "Thank you" Algus said, bowing courteously to the innkeeper before leaving. He then searched the town and found Lumi and Spica at the local boutique. "Ahh, there you are, girls" he said. "I've reserved us a room at the Inn. Come with me back to our room, there's something I need to talk to you about" he continued. He waited at the doorway for the girls to finish shopping, and once they were done, they headed back to the Inn. Algus went upstairs to the room with the girls, as he sat them down at the table. "here's something I have to tell yoiu girls. I haven't been completely honest with you...." he said as the girls looked at each other hesitantly. "I didn't just take you away from Aethis so that we could be safe. I want to ask for your help" he continued, as the girls sighed in relief. "I'm planning on investigating the Kingdom of Aethis, so I can find out why they are kidnapping our kind, and what they are doing with us after we are kidnapped. Would you ladies be kind enough as to help me with my investigation?" he said to them, smiling warmly.

Lumi listened to every word Algus had to say. The bags she carried from the boutique rustled a bit in a sudden breeze, casting everything into silence after the rustling stopped. She finally closed her eyes, then smiled warmly.

"Algus, I have been with you for a long time, probably longer than I knew my parents," Lumi started. "I have travelled with you on many occasions, and have never backed down. So, there is not need in asking me for help."

Lumi then glanced over to Spica, who was too silent during the conversation and the moment of silence right afterwards. It was now Spica's turn to utter her decision, and shatter the awkward momment.

((OOC: I will be gone Thursday - Sunday, and will try to come on Monday, if I can :x sorry, my mom has to do some work trip and I have to go to my grandparents' house v.v no computer access... ))

Algus smiled at Lumi before bowing his head courteously. "Thank you, Lumi" he said before raising his head. He looked at Spica, noticing she had an uneasy look on her face. "What's wrong?" he asked. "I-I'm not sure if I want to...." Spica replied uneasily. "It's okay" Algus said, smiling warmly. "I'll give you some time to think. Why don't we get some rest now? That'll give you plenty of time to think about it" Algus said before lying down on one of the beds. Noticing Lumi and Spica doing the same, he pulled the blankets over himself and drifted off to sleep....

((Also, I'm considering accepting new RPers, because it looks like JubJub won't be posting anytime soon....))

((OOC: Erm, I had to do some hardcore editing of Lumi's past and the past post of the flashback involving her parents, when, in reality, her mother had already died before Lumi reached the age of eight. Also, she now lost her brother at the age of ten and--ah, who cares T.T ))

Lumi laid onto the soft pillow, her eyes feeling heavy all of a sudden. Her silvery blue hair branched out in various directions as her soft breath released itself from her mouth, her chest growing and declining along with the rhythm of her breath. Lumi had pulled out a dark blue pajama set earlier, with small white stars dotting the pants, and a white moon with the words, "Starlight," on it in white (and in the fame font ). She resettled herself in the light violet comforter (or large blanket) occasionally, until she truly drifted asleep.

Lumi was standing in a hospital, about the age of four, her fully black hair falling down on her shoulders, held in pinky tails by red ribbons. Lumi's grayish green eyes were focused on a dying woman on front of her, her small arms wrapped around the woman's left arm.

"Lumi, do not ever feel hatred for what you are," The woman turned to her to say, her icy blue eyes more pale than normal.

"Mommy, your not going to leave me, right?" Lumi pleaded, tears starting to form around the edges of her eyes. "You said you would not leave this world. Didn't you?"

The woman, on the verge of death, did not look ill at all. Her features were still young, and her indigo hair, which fell down on the edge of the bed as she talked to her daughter, had not an ounce of gray hair in it. It seemed to be a disease that did not cause her body to grow faster, but die slowly in the inside. It was a strange thing, since when this happens, the effects show on your outer appearance. The momment Lumi's mother collapsed on the ground, she was sent directly to the hospital, everyone assuming she had merely fainted from exhaustion. When the docter's fully examined her, they were shocked to find out that her heart was barely beating, and that a lot of her organs were malfunctioning. Everyone was asked to leave the room, but Lumi insisted to stay. Now she was hanging on her mother, who was growing colder every minute, hoping and praying she would not die.

"Mommy said she would always be with me, right?" Lumi could no longer contain her tears, and great blobs of liquid poured forth from her tiny eyes. Her mother could not comfort her in her arms any longer, and merely spoked until she could no longer do so.

"Lumi, dear, if all you do is cry, how will you become stronger?" Her mother questioned, her voice fading. "Was it not you who said that you wanted to be the best mage ever? Do not ever think your powers are cursed, because they are a blessing. The only way they can be such disgrace is if you use it in a dark manner. Remember when I had told you that quote? 'A weapon does not control you- you control the weapon.' It is the same with your powers. No one can ever say they became berserk from having too much power. It was their greed and selfishness that flowed through their powers and made them go into such a state. Always remain pure to your powers and use them for good. I know those are clichéd final words, but that is all I need you to do for me."

"Mommy, do not say that!" Lumi exclaimed suddenly, pounding on her mother's wrist. "You won't die! You can't die! I won't let you die! It's not fair! Why is it that we have to suffer? Why!? Is it because we are different? You say it is good to stay true to your powers--to yourself--but what about everyeone else? Why aren't they true to themselves!? It does not make sense! Why are we the ones that suffer for doing what is right!? This world did this to you! It is tainted, and its impurity has made you suffer! That's it! That is why you are leaving me! I am not a bad girl! I am not a bad girl! I am not a bad girl--!"

"I know, but you must not let that anger fill you up," Lumi's mother told her, her voice almost a whisper now. "There will be many that walk the path of hatred, but you must not be one of them. Hatred only blinds people, turning them into impure monsters. That is why you must always remain true to yourself. Never lose the path you are following, even till you reach the very end. If you do, your spirit will drift to a very bad place."

"I know, mommy," Lumi whispered, holding back tears. "Mommy will go to a good place, right? No, I know mommy will go to a good place."

"Lumi, I want you to have this," Lumi's mother said, removing a necklace from her neck. "May it bring...you...luuuhh..."

Lumi took the precious necklace in her hand. It had a beautiful glass angel on it, or so she thought. If it was glass, it surely would have chipped or even shattered by now, yet it was in perfect condition. The angel had a round face, with closed eyes, a small nose, and an open mouth, as though she was singing. Whoever the artist was put a lot of detail in it, the hair showing the efect of speading hair and you could even see each finger folded together, each finger clinging in between the nexta little below the head, which was tilted up. Her dress flowed down magnificantly, the small toes could be seen, as well as part of the legs, if you flipped it around. On top of that, it was small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, (well, in this case, the palm of a teenagers hand) making it seem all the more delicate. The same clear material, in the shape of small diamonds, somehow held themselves together too. The necklace appeared to be indestructible, yet the most fantastic piece of art Lumi had ever saw.

"Mommy, its--"

Her mother had already past away, unmoving in her death bed, aside from the wavering arm Lumi clung to. She knew it would not bring her mother back if she cried, yet the warm liquid kept foaming from her eyes. Lumi shut her eys, bit her lip, did all she could to stop the tears from coming, but it was of no hope. A voice from inside of her rung out through the room, alerting the doctors, who saw the girl screaming and placing her whole bdy against the lifeless arm, as though the dead woman would rise up and hug the saddened girl. It took the doctors awhile to loosen her from her lifeless mother, and a few more minutes to get Lumi to calm down. Lumi had already placed the necklace around her neck, taking one last look at it before drifting to sleep.

Lumi found herself sweating and crying when she woke up, obviously reacting to the "dream" she had just had. Reaching around her neck, she could feel the chain of the necklace run across her fingers. Trying to shake the depressed feeling that now filled her whole being, Lumi rolled over on the bed, now facing the right, her ear against the pillow. She saw that she had kicked the covers off her, and took a minute before placing them back over her shoulder.

"Mom," Lumi whispered as the angel finally came into her touch. "I won't ever give up, okay? Besides, I have Algus with me now, and Spica. I just hope she continues to journey with us."

So yay, sad dream o.o I mean, emotional scene! >.< Oh nevermind...

*whistles* Pretty long post, if I do say so myself ))

Algus awoke to the sound of crying. Shifting over to his left, he noticed it was Lumi crying, clutching the pendant on her neck. He got up and sat beside her, allowing her to lean her head onto his shoulder. "Why are you crying?" he asked her. "You need to stay strong." He pulled out a handkerchief and wiped away her tears. He could hear her muttering the word 'Mommy' repeatedly. "You need to stay strong.....for your mother's sake" he said, uneasily.

Lumi squarmed uneasily in the thick blanket covering her body. Algus had heard her muttering in her sleep, which made her blush, since she was also crying. Thick, crystallic orbs of liquid streamed down Lumi's face, at which most likely drew Algus closer to her, making sure she was okay.

"I just had a bad dream, is all," Lumi murmured, before smiling, her voice growing louder. "Do not worry, I will stay strong! It was only a bad dream. I am alright...really!"

Lumi softened her grin, closing her eyes as she did this. It was obvious the memory of her mother's death was still lingering about her head. Lumi merely pulled the covers over her head, facing the opposite way from Algus.

"Anyway, we need our sleep, right?" Lumi announced uncertainly. "In the morning, we can see how Spica feels, and whether or not she will accompany us. Yaaauuuwh, I'm sleepy."

((OOC: By the way, that was a yawn before "I'm sleepy." >.< ))

Algus gently placed Lumi's head on her pillow, and went back to bed.

Algus was in the castle of Aethis, running through the halls. His body felt....foreign to him. Algus entered the throne room and knelt before the King, and a shadowy figure. "You wanted to speak to me fa--I mean, your majesty?" Algus said. His voice sounded cold, yet familiar. "Yes." the King said. "Elraine, come forth!" the King shouted. "Yes, father" a young woman said as she stepped towards the King, her beautiful gown trailing behind her. "Father, I've come to ask you to stop kidnapping these people! They bear no malice to our country!" Elraine exclaimed. "And what makes you think this, Elraine?" the King asked. "Because....I too, can use these powers" Elraine replied, her head slouched slightly. "Elraine!?" the King asked. "It's true, father. I was born with the power of Rune, aswell" she said. She looked at Algus. "If you would" she said, nodding to him. Algus nodded and brought in a straw training dummy. Elraine then concentrated, with her hands outstrectched. Her fingertips glew a golden colour as she fired a ball of condensed light at the dummy, destroying it. Algus proceeded to sweep up the remnants as the King continued "Elraine......I never thought...." he looked at the shadowy figure as it nodded. "Judas.......kill her." he said. "What? Father! No! You musn't listen to Laselle anymore!" she screamed. Judas? But my name is Algus..... Algus thought. Wait...could this be--- "I'm sorry, Elraine. But father's orders are absolute" Algus said. No!! Algus thought as he heard Elraine scream. The sound of metal cutting flesh wrung through his ears as everything went black.

Algus awoke in a cold sweat, both Lumi and Spica standing over him. Algus looked at the two girls uneasily. "It's okay, I'm fine" he said to them.
"Just a bad dream, that's all." He got out of bed and wiped the sweat off his body and got dressed. He then turned to Spica. "Have you made your decision yet, Spica?" he asked.
