"Actually, I quite enjoy a little conflict in my evening routine. Keeps things lively." His smirk was devoid of all but the most sadistic humor, but he managed to make it a bit friendlier before continuing.

"And you, young lady, have earned my respect, if not my envy. The burden of hope is heavier now than ever. You must be strong to have taken it, voluntarily or otherwise. I feel that ideailsm, though, weighs me down. Such things are not my preferred way to spend lonely evenings."

Ynyseh smiled. "But if you're willing to make a difference, I'm willing to help. Point me in a direction and give me something to kill."

Algus came between Lumi and Ynyseh to break up their argument. "Now now, we mustn't squabble amongst one another." he said sternly. "Now that we have all become aquainted, allow me to prepare a meal, you all must be very hungry." he said kindly. With a warm smile on his face, he turned and headed into the kitchen and began to prepare some vegetables and meat over the a fire, humming a milotic melody as he did. He did not know where this melody came from, but it calmed his mind and loosened his tense muscles. He began to mash some potatoes and put them into a pot over the fire, and noticed he had stopped humming. Though he tried to remember the melody, he couldn't. Disappointed, he continued to prepare dinner.

After he was finished preparing dinner, he called everyone to the table to eat, putting all of the food on platters in the center of the table. "After we eat, we should all rest before heading to the sewers. It's getting late and the sewers are crawling with fiends." he said to the rest of the group. "We'll have to leave early in the morning though, just to be sure we won't get caught."

Lumi stared at Algus for awhile, then blushed because she realized how loud she had gotten. She could feel her face grow red like a rose, and turned her gaze towards the ground. Around her feet were some pebbles and small rocks of all color. She kicked a brown, shinny rock by her foot.

"Ah, if I knew I was going to be that loud, I would of not pulled him out," Lumi thought nervously as she turned back to Ynyeh.

"Um, sorry about that," Lumi managed to say. "Also, Algus, I apologize for interrupting your speech in there."

At the mention of food, she felt her stomach growl, making her blush even harder. She could feel the heat going to her eyes as she raced inside, muttering about how stupid she seemed now.

Inside, she sat in a fancy and elegant chair, with gold outlining the chair with a swirling design at the top. The seat was warm and comfortable, also making her back cozy and relaxed. Looking at the plate in front of her, she* looked at her reflection on the shiny surface. Grinning as she lifted her head, her parents, who were seated across from her smiled in return as she got ready to eat.*

The smell of warm vegatables, tasty mash potatoes, and delicious meat filled her noes. Snapping out of her dazed state, she admired all the food around her. Loading her plate, she slowly began to eat her portion. After awhile, she put her fork on the tip of her teeth, listening to what Algus had to say. When he finished, the room grew silent. Lumi felt unconfortable in the quietness, her fork banging somewhat loudly on her plate as she ate. She looked around to wait for a response.

((Just so you guys know, you WILL be able to learn new skills/spells later on in the RP, but you can't just learn them randomly, and I have to approve of any skills you may want to learn via PM))

Noticing everyone had finished their food, Algus excused everyone from the table. He began to remove the empty dishes from the table and began to wash them in a tub in the kitchen. After he was done, he prepared the guest rooms for everyone. He rejoined the rest of the groiup in the sitting room.

"I've prepared the guest bedrooms. Choose a bed and make yourselves comfortable. We have a long journey ahead of us, so rest is a must." He said to them. He bowed curteously as he left the room, heading towards his own bedroom. When he entered the room, he turned off all the lights, save for a Glyphian Candle (which never blows out). He then layed down on his bed and pulled the comforters over him. I hope they agree to come along... Algus thought to himself. He then drifted to sleep....

Ynyseh had left about halfway through the night to finish his job and get paid. It hadn't taken him two hours, so he still had plenty of time to return and rest a bit. He never slept much, but he did need to keep his energy up.

He found he could not sleep, though, and stayed for several hours with the lamp in his room on sharpening his knives, brewing poisons, crafting explosives, and generally just staying awake. He found that he simply could not sleep.

It wasn't about leaving his life behind. He had nothing. His posessions included a rented inn room and everything in his person. His jobs were simply contracts that he could stop accepting, and he had no standing contracts at the moment. He had no family to speak of, and no significant others to consider.

Why, then, was this such a stressful decision?

"Dammit!" he swore aloud. Loudly.

Algus had arisen early, thanks to a loud "Dammit!" he heard from the next room over. He got dressed and went over to his room to see what' wrong. "Ynyseh, what's wrong?" He asked. He heard a quiet "Leave me be" from Ynyseh. "If you ever want to talk, let me know" Algus said kindly, as he left the room. He then woke everyone up and prepared a quick breakfast.
