Default Highschool Courses question

7 more months, i'm going to high school. I already planned my courses already, but I'm little worried.

This is my question

I'm taking

-English (Applied)
-Science (Applied)

So in grade 10, if I want to change my english/science course to academic, do I need to take any summer courses?

- Thank you

I don't think you need to, and I'm from Ontario, Canada as well.

My school requires you to take an extra course to move up to academic from applied. At my school, I find academic to be easy. I expected it to be harder than what it is. I don't really think that you should take applied. You can choose academic and then move down to applied at anytime during the school year, but not the other way around.

Hope that helped.

I live in Ontario aswell btw.

I think you could still take academic.
The academic courses are actually pretty easy. Just take them, you could always move to applied during the year if you really want to.

I know for math, you have to do some online course or something.

In my school you need to get a certain grade average in the applied class in order to be able to move up the year after that.

Alternate option is get approved by some people... OR if your guidance counselor is retarded he wont notice.

Its like an 85 or so, but even like an 80 they still move you up in my school.

Last year i went from Algebra2(applied) with a 75 average to Pre-Calc(College-prep)~

Well i took College-prep classes(math and science) 9th grade and i had to study every damn minute and do my homework or i would get behind and fail. That pressured me so 10th grade and 11th grade i took applied classes for math and science. Is it easy? Well lets put it this way: You can get a 75 with little amount of work and study ^^ Teachers are also really easy with you.

Whatever you take 9th grade is not a big deal because colleges don't really care since its your first year.

I should also say i'm a very lazy kid who hates math and science..... so yeah xD

Thanks for your help. I also have one more question.

Do you know what courses should I take to become a computer engineer?
