Derek chuckled and clapped Rik on the back. "Way to go, genius." Taking a quick bite from his burger, and a swig from his drink, Derek turned to Star. "He does this often enough. Speaks before he thinks."

Standing up to stretch, Derek grabbed his receipt and paid the waitress for his burger. "Well, while you guys finish your meal, I need to let my Pokémon stretch. I'll be outside, waiting."

Star hurriedly finished her meal, including all the desserts she ordered, and excused herself. Running up to the door after Derek left, she smiled and waved at them.

"Hey guys, I am sorry to hurry and eat all of my food with such haste, but I want to train with my Pokémon!" Star yelled across the room to Rik and Jib, who probably were stunned at how fast she could eat. "See ya guys after you finish eating!"

Star ran out of the retaurant and was greeted by a warm, blazing sun that shinned across the light blue river in the sky. Grinning, she hurried and found an empty spot that seemed rather decent. Plucking a Pokéball from her waist, she twirled about her toes and released the Pokéball from her grasp, a red beam of light shooting forth.

"Hello Eka, how are you today?" Star questioned, her face gleaming with happiness. "I thought I would perfect the moves I showed you, since they only helped you remember them. That is why I was afraid of bringing you out in battle and had to sacrifice myself. So, how about it? Let's become stronger and fight along side each other with our friends!"

Eka chirped joyfully in her Pokémon language, as if to say, 'alright, let's go!' The two of them stood face to face with each other in an open field, the grass wavering merrily as they approached it.

"First, let's work on your Quick Attack!" Star announced. "Okay, for a successful Quick Attack, agility is key! Now, in order to successfully pull this off, one needs to have quick feet! So, the question is, 'how does one get quick feet?' The answer is simple: keep running until you get super fast! The best way to improve is to have others helping you along the way! So how about it! Let's race together! Oh, and don't under-estimate me! I can keep up with you! Alright, Eka? I have the stop-watch! We will race to that tree in the distance! Ready? Set! GO!"

Also, this post will be broken down into parts ^o^ like, they run, and when I post again, it will show the outcome!

This also explains how Eka LEARNED her attacks, but didn't really MASTER them...so I thought this made it sound more "fair." ))

Ultimate Aries

Rik played with something on his computer for a while. It looked like a combination of a gigantic colorful spreadsheet, a 3-D render of a pair of Pokémon, and a text window with a billion words on it. There was so much activity going on that staring at the jumbled screen for too long was liable to give one a headache.

Of course, RIk simply took the migranes in stride and munched while he keyed something in, a completly impassive look on his face.

OOC: Wow. I thought this thing was dead for a second.

I never thought Quick Attack had to be mastered. Never found much use for it, myself. Still, I won't question your methods.

Star and Eka stood by the tree, or rather, laid beside it after about six runs later. They did not realize how far and tiring it would be to make it there. Still, Eka managed to outrun Star after the fourth run, and completly leave Star in her dust by the sixth run. Now resting, Star gazed up at the clouds and decided to play a little game by herself as she took in the crisp air. She tried her best to find Pokémon within the sky through the clouds.

"Hey, that one over there looks like a Ponyta!" Star realized, the thought drifting into her head. "Oh, and that looks like a Pikachu! Heh, well, I think I will work on Eka's Blizzard.

"Alrighty, ready for the next challenge?" Star asked, waiting for Eka to shake her head in a "yes" motion. "Okay, we shall work on Blizzard. Since we are both tired from physical work, Blizzard or Hail would seem like the choice to go to now, right? However, Blizzard may be needed for Hail, since that is an 'over-time' attack. Now, Blizzard works with your mouth. By opening your mouth, you can release ice shards at opponents called Blizzard. We already went on the basics before, so let's get to it! Now, let me see what you remembered!"

Eka nodded and waltzed over about three feet from Star. Opening her mouth, the Pokémon got ready to cast Blizzard. Suddenly, Eka's mouth glew and...small ice shards came out and flew about three inches from her mouth before landing on the ground. Star grimaced a bit, but regained composure.

"Alrighty, nice try for not practicing it for awhile!" Star chirped, feeling a little embarrassed for her Pokémon friend. "Well, remember, the attack come from the stomach. By focusing all your energy on that part of your body and imagining how it looks in your mind, one can pull off a basic Blizzard. On a skale of 1-10, your still a 1. Ah, but with this trick, you can reach a 3. Not much, but it takes practice to reach higher. Okay, I know I am going to regret this, but use me as a target! I will show you how it is done and you try the same thing, but actually performing it. Use that training to increase your speed too on the attack, so it can shoot further. Ready? Okay, commence!"

((OOC: Again, another continuation. Also, that was training to get her to move faster and think faster. Any Pokémon can pull off a Quick Attack, but without speed, why bother? :x ))

Derek Dwyre

Derek strolled through the park, watching all the Trainers play and battle. In one fight, an Arbok was facing a Monferno with mix results. Another fight saw a Nidoking squaring off with a Steelix. The place was alive, which made Derek grin.

Deciding for a little relaxation, Derek climbed up a large tree and saw a Glaceon bolt past. 'Hmm... Interesting. A moment later, Derek smiled a little wider, seeing Star run past. He watched the two do another another run before they stopped not too far from his tree.

Though he couldn't hear most of what they were saying, Derek got the gist of it. She was training with her Pokémon. The Glaceon puffed up for a second before a few shards of ice fell to the ground in front of it. 'Is she really trying to help it learn Blizzard?'

Description: Lorelae is an outdoorsy kind of girl, with black hair with red streaks in it that sway about her shoulders. Her hair usually covers one of her eyes, which are a deep brown, so they almost look black. She usually wears deep orange hoodies, and faded jeans with some black converse. She has tannish skin, just so it isn't pale. She also wears a brown pouch on her belt wherever she goes.

History Brief: Lorelae has just started training, as she was given an Eevee be her other friend which had been training with pokemon for some time now, and he had no need for it. The only reason she hadn't started before is because her parents' constant moves to other cities, but Lorelae finally got away from them, fleeing back to her hometown, Mauville City, with her beloved Eevee. After Lorelae had survived on her own for a few weeks, she started training. The brown pouch at her side contains 2 shining Pokeballs, for if she ever comes across a Furret, which she has loved ever since she was a girl.

Style: Lorelae really has no style yet, since she has just begun training. She likes quick moves that stun other pokemon in battles, though. She is also thinking of becoming a grass/normal/bug trainer. The paths are still covered in brush for her, though.

Star obseved her Glaceon struggle at maintaining a decent BLizzard attack. At one point, Eka took a deep breath, her eyes closed, and blew extremely hard. She managed to produce a strong wind, but the same small, crystal-like shards flew forth. Still, Star did not want to give up. It was essential for her precious Pokémon to learn stronger attacks, so that in a time of distress, they could defend for themselves. Right now, Eka was too weak to stand strong in battle, and obviously was still hurting mentally from her abuse from whoever "took care" of her before.

"Okay, now do not try to use Blizzard with such haste, but concentration," Star told Eka with a warm smile. "At first, anything that has to be learn or retaught over forgotton momments in life will take time to be recorded in the mind. This is by careful studying and immense training, yet plenty of rest and fitness to stay in health. It would be better if I had a Pokémon that already knew Blizzard, though, because you could observe it that way. Too bad. Hey, why don't we take another break until the others come?"

Eka began crying with determination, as though she was ashamed with her process so far with her attack. Unlike Quick Attack, this took time, concentration, determination, will, strength, and health to perfect. Examples are always helpful when confused on what you are truly aiming for, though. With a sigh, Star bent down and gazed into Eka's deep bluish geen eyes.

"Look, it is not that I do not believe that you can do this, but if you do not know how to properlly use Blizzard, how can you be able to master it?" Star questioned the depressed Glaceon. "Now, do not be sad. I am sure that after you witness a true Blizzard, the nostalgic memory of how to use this ability will return and practice will be easier. Just me blowing into the air will do nothing for you, so cheer up, okay?"

Derek smiled sadly at the the two who were trying with such determination to improve the Glaceon's power. Looking down at the ground for a second, Derek vaulted off the branch and landed with a knee and a hand on the ground. Brushing himself off, Derek strolled over towards Star, smiling friendly.

"I know it's a little different, but perhaps a demonstration would help your Glaceon." Derek stopped next to Star, fingering the four Pokéballs at his side. One of them was a true Pokéball, one was a Great Ball, one was an Ultra Ball, and one was a Luxury Ball.

Finally, Derek snatched the Pokéball, pressed the center button to enlarge, then hurled it a few feet. "Come on out, Pyro!" A brilliant flash od white lit up the area before a black Charizard stomped it's feet and gave a mighty roar. "Alright, many special attack from a Pokémen really comes from the gut. Screech, Flamethrower, Blizzard, Roar. They all come from the gut. Let's demonstrate, Pyro." Derek pointed to a clearing with two stumpy dead trees. "Flamethrower" Derek ordered, pointing to left tree.

The Charizard reared back, it's chest puffing out noticably before it opened it's mouth, releasing a jet of orange and red flames erupting from it's mouth, engulfing the tree and burning it to cinders in a matter of seconds.

"Different element, same principle." Derek turned back to Star, grinning.
