Default Java Game Engine Program

Greetings,

I'm sorry for the subject, but the subject is to see if there is a application out there where a game developer can easily put 2D or 3D objects in a Java-based game so I can visually see the output such as what Torque Game Engine's supplied applications do. I know there's libraries out there, but is it all I can do is is to conduct a game only by the IDE?

I've seen Jagax Ltd. have a game engine to help them, and you can see the output of the interface and such. Jagex Ltd. is the only example I would know off hand, and yet I don't plan to use an applt but a Web-Start game such as PoxNora.

Why am I coding in Java?: I find it unique to do so, as I know C++ is dominated, but maybe Java can give a different "flavor".

Regards,
Kevin K. (a.k.a Kevinul)

Well I know there are a few IDE's and I wil see if I can find some. I also prefer java.. iono why, but have you thought of first using the Jpanes and the premade ones from the JDK? They can easily make a simple 2D game but a 3D game might be harder.
Here are a few sites I have not been to them but recommended by a book.
www.jars.com
www.java4fun.com
they might have a good amount of information. I think one of your best bets is something JOGL, which is suppose to be OpenGL for Java. Theres also JOAL which is a 3D audio library.

Well, okay, I knew there are libraries, but I was hoping there would be an application written in or to be converted to Java with out those vector creating just for one 3D object. I would know guess due to this start out as 2D.

They do have them I know, but I actually do not know what they are, I can ask around my college for you. But I know what you mean, I don;t like Java 3D or using JPanels all the time as much as I an app.
