When you 'delete' them its just simply removed from your computer. Where do they go? Nowhere. They are terminated in the process.

When you recycle them your computer uses the remains to speed up your porn.

It's like a piece of paper with a pencil/eraser.
You can write on the paper, and you can erase. Where does it go after it's erased? No where really... cause it is no more.

Think of your computer as a brain. When you forget something that you learned in the fourth grade, where does it go? Same concept.

Or rather

A computer uses binary to make up letters and numbers. Which is a sequence of one's and zero's. When you delete something it simply turns the entire thing into zeros. Thus terminating the program and freeing up 'space'.
