Anarchy Online is pretty awesome. It's not all free. You can make a fr00b account and get all the way to lvl 200, but 220 is max and some areas are off limits and quite a bit of the best gear is as well.(These areas are like different continents so it's not like you'd try to zone in somewhere and it'd reject you. You can manage on the classic continent without the uber gear just fine.) If you wanted to upgrade you'd have to buy the expansions and then it prompts you to pay subscription as well. It's still worth playing though, even with a fr00b account. I'm pretty sure it should always be free because they've extended it for like 2-3 years now. Except for the good/bad (however you take it) news that AO is having a graphics engine update coming up, so if you haven't played that game and you try it out and like it as a freebie account you might want to upgrade all the way. It's worth it I think, I'm considering it myself if the graphics engine update is to my liking. Just check it out if anything, couldn't hurt.


Oh and by the way, Mabinogi is a one of a kind fantasy mmorpg.

Anarchy Online sounds like what you're looking for. It would probably be taxing on your system though.

I made my account finally. But as i tried to download the client i continued to get errors. I have triple checked my firewalls and anti-virus programs and they are allowing all correct ports to run. And every time i try to log into the website using the account i created it continuously tells me that i am inputting incorrect information even though I'm looking straight at the email they sent me..
Thanks for the RF tip...I moderated for them for a while and wasn't too thrilled with the way the game was turning even B4 it turned FTP (free to play). I ended giving up due to the major increase of players and their constant complaints about the game. Over half of what they wanted was free gear and/or hints for quests or monsters. Several other features also needed a change but the designers refused to accept any feedback from the general public. One major example is that players only received ONE quest per level, and even if a person played for 12 hours straight they would only be able to achieve 2 levels in that time limit even at the lower levels. Which is ridiculous for a game that states they make it fun and enjoyable to level. I myself prefer not to spent 95% of my time just grinding random monsters to get to the next level, to just having to do it again. Now i'm not Flaming the game. I am just stating that due to the nature of its developers and designers, the game is heading straight down the crapper.
I have known about anarchy online, yet i did not know they changed it to FTP for the most part. I tried it about a year ago and It wanted a monthly subscription. If its gone FTP for the most part i just might give it a try. I will be upgrading laptops soon anyways so most of the graphics and other requirements shouldnt be too much of a problem.

I also found the Space Cowboy Online...if any GM reads this plz find some way to delete it off your site. They have discontinued that game and it is no longer in service for anyone. They shut down the servers last august. Thought it looks like it would have been fun.

Flysis developers must hate you. I'm playing and having a blast. It doesn't seem to be very role-playish though, so maybe it's good it isn't working for you.

Just recieved an email from them telling me their account server was down but its up now..so im trying to download it again. it might just be my lousy internet connection thats causing the download errors. Well if i do decide to play it then i hope to see ya there..

I;ve gotten in and been playin for a few days now. Its not bad for its FPS flying style. i recommend it as you can play solo any time you want.
