I want to make a text based game in php/MySql anyone have any ideas they can give me i cant thin of anything but a mafia game which everyone have these days

Try taking a trip to the browser section, then do the php tut, get a free account at freehostia or awardspace (my personal favorite is freehostia) and create a server on your computer. Then look at some opensource stuff, or get a book.

don't do mafia. most kids aren't aloud to play that kinda stuff. (like me)

do something with halo, Military (absolutely NO economic or polotic games!) or even gears of war. MAYBE EVEN WORLD OF WARCRAFT


for the WoW game u could create a character like u would normally. then move around and stuff like u would in Fallensword. (which is pretty cool)

Not sure how much code you've developed, but there is an open source php/MySql game that is being developed on called Solar Empire. You might be able to get some good ideas, as well as code.

the market at the minute seems to be liking modern combat games.

Maybe make it focused on tanks, planes and other vehicles that exist in the present age.

Do you have an artist to help you? Browser games just don't work without some good images.
