MMO, besides fun - Free MMORPG

As the article learning the MMO way talking about MMO learning (what mmo affects our real life), I picked up the story (12-yr-old Relies on WoW Knowledge to Fend off Real Life Moose Attack) that could be treated as positive aspect of MMO leaning.
We all agree that game is for fun. However, as our MMO world grows bigger and bigger, can we have more beside only fun (also say time killing) in MMO?
Like em em em em this MMO NASA(but gonna be in future).
How abt what we are playing now? More valuable or useful stuffs toward our real life? In this way, our parent and school may have positive attitude to our MMO playing.
Something besides fun?

In some ways but u cant apply that to every single mmorpg.

In the game I am playing now at level 30 you can get a invisible skill so you could tell your parents that if you kill enough people you can go invisible.

the 12 year old takes a moose is last year.
why just this week i sneak attacked a cop and got a critical for 240 he aggro'd me and sadly, i was a rogue.

and the week before that i used my "evade" skill to completely deaggro myself onto another guy.

Like a quest where you have to do some math exercises?

What mmo's taught me is if I channel enough energy into my palm I can shoot fire balls out of my hand. Unfortunately try as I may no fire comes out =( I'm a crappy mage

.

On top of that Meditation doesn't increase my Mana Points at all.

MMO world is amazing, and we spent a lot time on it. But Sometimes, i felt empty that i got only fun but nothing in this main part of my daily life. Very very empty after i quited a long mmo playing.

It's all fun and games until some Chinese kid pretends he's a mage from WoW and sets another kid on fire.
