Hi guys. I'm planning to play guildwars. I would like my primary to be a dervish and I only have money for 1 guildwars CD. I was just wondering if there are any pros and cons if I go buy the nightfall CD instead of the original(prophecies) one and vice versa.

buying nightfall you miss out on story elements and you end up going "wtf"
buying the first one you miss out on extra classes.

i'd say you should but the first guild wars ( prophecies) it has story lines and is probally the best out of the three.
dont get factions its crap on its own with out prohecies and nightfall.

so get prophecies first and get the rest l8r if you want.
but remember you can always return the game if you dont like it

and one more thing. lets say, I buy nightfall and my friend bought factions. could we play together or do we have to buy either one to play together?

you have to have the same game to play with each other(as dirty as that sounds)

Buy Nightfall then if you are playing dervish. This is coming from a guy who've been playing it for 2 years. Nightfall has some of the most commonly used skills in regards whether PvE/PvP, more importantly it has Heroes; a must-have AI addition to your party. They are smarter than henchmen and skillbars can be customised.

So that means we can't see each other in-game EVER? that's quite a bummer then. i thought we could do pvp together even if we don't have the same guildwars episode.

You can meet and PvP together on the Battle Isles, which is the hub for Lvl20 PvP. You just can't see each other in continents of campaign which you did not purchase.

It's my favourite one!! __________________ 1 in every 7.8 people on OnRPG has taken to making up statistics like: "90% of OnRPG have switched their username to something related to Anime. If you still have a REAL username, put this in your signature". If you are one of the people who hasn't, put this in your signature.
