its not. you guys say it is because on the loading bar it says "loading 2d graphics" THAT MEANS THE INVETORY AND ALL THE PICTURES ON THE INVETORY YOU MORON!!!!!!!

and in the EXACT middle of the loading bar it says "loading 3D MODELS"
as in 3d. Models can only be in 3d. if it was 2d it would be sprites.

and don't post some crap about "2d isometric" graphics. cuz if it was like that, then you wuldn't be able to change your camera view [up] [down]
[left] [right] and every direction in between. i am not a fanboy of runescape. i don't even play it but on saturdays with my friend whom lives very far away.

Respect dude you know what your talking about,people learn more about dimensions onrpg need more people who know of where they come and speakf rom.

Runescape, as stated in several posts, on Onrpg and elswhere, is 2d Isometric. Meaning the characters are just really 3-d looking sprites, essentially. More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_projection

As with all types of parallel projection, objects drawn with axonometric projection do not appear larger or smaller as they extend closer to or away from the viewer.

Runescape is a 2D Isometric realm, that includes 3D images within it...

"Isometric projection is a form of graphical projection — more specifically, an axonometric projection. It is a method of visually representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions, in which the three coordinate axes appear equally foreshortened and the angles between any two of them are 120°. Isometric projection is one of the projections used in drafting engineering drawings."

You will note that the camera angle is restricted, iow you cannot look from any angle and from that position to all farpoints, iow Runescape is not 3D.

Not that it matters. Some of the best PBBG's I've played use 2d images in a 2d realm. Content is better than eye-candy, unless you only intend to login to look at the pretty pictures.

I only know of 2 different 3D PBBG's; Wurmonline and Sherwood. There is another game in development called Gothic Ages, the authors claim it is/will be 3D too. Time will tell. More information about those PBBG's can be found on my PBBG website found in my signature.

Speaking of Sherwood, does anyone know how they retain character information?
