Highly Impossible, he must have given his account info to some one else, and that person might have turned back on him.
It cant be cause when you open your chat box, your releasing your character and your able to speak into the Chat room. Also if this *would* be possible, then its like replying to a whisper. |

First of all, I want you all to understand that if this is true (which I highly doubt) than this person is brilliant. Heck, I don't even think a packet edit could accomplish what this person is doing. There are even limitations to packet edits (which is why you don't see people with infinite MP or infinite mesos). To get someone's personal information from the Nexon server (where everything is stored) would be extremely hard to do (especially if you're a client). Even if you create your own code and send it over to the server doesn't mean that your code doesn't work. For anyone who has very tried to hack the game before, I'm sure you've noticed that if you do a fly or super speed attack you'll be disconnected from the game. This is because the Maple Story server has a logical check system which will detect if things are "over the usual limits". For example, the speed limit for this game is 140. Hackers are the only people who can get over 140. If Nexon plugs in a piece of code that does something like "if speed>=140 then disconnect" and the moment someone's speed goes over 140; they'll get banned.
Now, it may seem that I've gotten off topic, but my point was that even if you packet edit something, it doesn't mean that it's going to work. Getting something like your login information/password/and your PIN seems to extremely unlikely. I do not know how Nexon stores the information, but I can say that no idiot of a game programmer would make this information available on a client. This type of sensitive information would be stored on a server. When you log in, the client will ping the server and check to make sure that the information matches. Once that happens, the client will let you in. With that said, it seems the only way this 'ecko' could have gotten anyone information would be by getting into the server. Getting into a server? Harder than you think. I'm not going to go into detail about this, unless someone seems to think that it's easy. Chatting someone to get their information seems very unlikely. From what I can see, there isn't much you can get out of chat. Unless the information is on the character no matter that, I don't believe there is any of getting someone's login information. If all your information follows you everywhere, then people could get your information by talking to you in the free market, in buddy chat, whisper, and all that. Chatting in a chat box is no different. I doubt Nexon would use a different chat client for the chat box. All in all, unless there is a terrible bug with the Nexon chat system, or if Ecko is an elite hacker, this isn't possible. |

LOL @ Randoms post haha.
The Power Guard is something that has been released for a long time but just has been private, to not only 1 person but many others also. Packet Editing has nothing to do with this. At all, Packet Editing only occurs ingame. As for this solution, this is not ingame at all. (If its Real) It could be having to know someones IP address as they come into the chatroom and since the category is given then so will the info of that person inside the chatroom. |

This was also the person who created that FM crasher hack and every vac / demi (long range attacks).
(There should be a screeny somewhere of him doing 13333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 3333333333333333333333337 damage every .001 second) He can do whatever hack he wants to. Last edited by magicjubin; 03-18-2008 at 05:12 AM. |

It's highly unlikely.
BUT, if he actually can hack you with chat, THEN he can hack you without it as well. He would hack into the server or packet-sniff your passwords or something, then chat you. The chat would be a smokescreen/decoy/scare tactics or simply mocking his victims.
