Hello all,

Im looking to make a 2D MMORPG,, in the past i used to make games with RPG MAKER 2006 , fun easy to use maker where you dont need to know any code to make a great game, instead you use an event editor. i studied computing at school and did visual basic for 2 years , what a waste of time i cant remeber jack sh*t now im 19 haha, but i might look into learning some simple scripting

basically what im looking for is a game developer with similar characteristicts as rpg maker:

Easy to use

map editor

Ncp Editor

event editor

real time fighting , not that turn based shite

etc etc , you catch my drift

optional cc+ scripting in parts

And last but definatley not least, when published i want a stand alone installer . dont want the user to have to unzip and unrar 100 files before they can play my game.

i want setup,,, then game.exe

haha i know its alot to ask but im sure with all you geniuses out there someone will be able to help me out , it would be much appreciated.

My game idea:

Im from scotland in uk and i plan on making a GTA style MMO , meaning im going to be designing all my own sprites and maps etc, Its going to be a city based game, where you can join gangs, deal drugs, do missons for NCP's to get money. Buy and sell from shops to make money etc etc etc, pretty much the way things are going in the uk anyway. In the game you will can choose to be a mafia type gangster , a normal citezen ( owns shops etc ) or police

Im doing this alone so anyone else thats experienced or unexperinced but intellegent and around the same age, give me a shout would like to hear from ya

Ive got good creative skills, good with adobe etc and will be able to make good sprites etc , missons, story lines

Have you checked out http://www.garagegames.com/, they have a couple of different games engines ranging from 2D to 3D with all kinds of stuff.

There's only one downside .. they want money after the demo expires.

Thanks , that looks like a good engine , ill try it for 30 days and if i like it ill buy it, Does anyone know how easy it is to make MMO's with this engine ? like adding in your server etc etc
