Before I start playing Guild Wars, I need help in clarifying some things...

1.) First thing is first, buy Guild Wars, right? Then as far as EotN, Factions, Nightfall and Prophecies is concern, can I buy these in any order after I buy Guild Wars?

2.) How does the game work if I only buy Guild Wars and don't buy any of the other versions... can I still play with other people who've already bought Nightfall or other versions or am I limited to playing with people who only have the same versions as me?
