Links to the current translation files can be found here:

1.2 - Installing the Translation Files

First unzip the files to a directory of your choice.

1) Start up the Rohan Launcher. Wait for it to finish its Full Checking of the files.
2) Copy the translated files over into \Rohan\Data\ Overwrite any files it asks to.
3) Press the start button on the start the game.

You will have to repeat steps 1 - 3 each time you want to start the game.

Quests
I cannot locate the files containing the NPC text and quest text. Instead, I am going to try to translate the Wiki (www.rohan.wikiwiki.jp) and create a quest guide that way. However, before I do that I will need to translate a couple more game files. In the meantime, please use Google Translator to read the following pages:
Lvl 1 - 20: http://rohan.wikiwiki.jp/?cmd=read&p...%C120#rf584ed7
Lvl 21 - 30: http://rohan.wikiwiki.jp/?cmd=read&p...2FLv21%A1%C130

1.4 - Community Translation Project

1.4.1 - How the files were initially translated

Initial translation of the ROHAN data files was done automatically using a computer program that I wrote. Certain data files contain the English text in them in some form or another and so the translation can be quickly obtained by formatting this text. In other cases, I simply had my program "ask" Google translator to translate the Japanese phrases for me. Due to this, you will find that a lot of the English text is translated in an odd way.

1.4.2 - How to contribute

The program that performs the translations can read a "Mapping" file that maps Japanese phrases to English text. By altering this file, we can customize what text goes into the ROHAN data files during translation. I will make these mapping files public once I have completed most of the automated translation. In the meantime, if you see text that should be changed, please email the EXACT english text along with what the text should read to translate.rohan@gmail.com

Example:

Current Text: Alterness need:
Translated Text: Dexterity needed:

1.4.3 - Downloading the Mapping Files

- I will make the mapping files available once most of the automated translation has been completed -

2 - Playing on a Japanese Server

2.1 - General Conduct

Since we are going to be guests on the Japanese servers, I think that we should try to be as courteous as possible and abide to their rules. Therefore I would like to ask the following:
- No Hacking (Except for the language files)
- No Cheating
- No Botting
- No Spamming
- No Foul Language

I also think that we should keep speaking in English in public chat to a minimum. I have heard instances where people get banned for speaking English and if we start having a large presence on the Japanese servers then we should probably be careful.

I have also heard of instances where people have been caught in screenshots swearing and being jerks in general and who have been banned for it. So please let's try to remain respectful.

2.2 - Japanese Phrases

I would like to collect a list of Japanese Phrases here that people feel would be useful to know. Please post any phrases that you feel should be added. In the event that you don't have the Japanese IME installed, you can copy and paste the Japanese from this section into the client.

Hello - Konnichiha こんいちは
Goodbye - Jyane / Matane じゃね/またね
Thank You - Arigatou gozaimasu ありがとうございます
Sorry - Gomennnasai ごめんなさい
Please take care of me (used when you enter a party) - Yorosikuonegaisimasu よろしくおねがいします
Thank you for your hard work (used when your party is finished) - Otukaresamadesita おつかれさまでした

3. - List of ROHAN players

Please post your IGN and server so that we can all play together! I think that most English people are playing on Server 2.

4 - Signup Guide

4.1 - Account Signup

There are other account signup posts around, but I figured I would include a quick guide so that all of the information is in one place. If you are having difficulties registering for ROHAN, please consult the other guides as they are more detailed.

It seems that you need Opera to register for an account (BIG thanks to Moogle415 for figuring this out). If anyone finds a way to do this using IE, please post it here!
