that rule would really limit people in certain ways. Why can't a user join up and show us a game right away. Why must he make 7 posts before he can post the link. If anything it will encourage more spamming as bots/members will just keep posting till they can post links.
I see where you are coming from, but it is a double edged sword. This will most likely not be implemented. |

Ill try to defend live's suggestion here.
New users are pretty much going to sign up to just promote their own made games. Which isn't a bad thing but shoudl really be put in the "shameless promotion" section. I say that, that section could be open to any post count. When it comes to Free MMORPG and any other section other than that. All I really see from 1 posters are "Come check out this game I made" and/or "Free GOLD!!" threads. When it comes to having more spam due to this rule. Well I say. Spammers for "free gold" already spam in other threads. So preventing them from making the threads is still helping. If the user is legitimately trying to introduce a new game to us. That will give him reason to support this site and become a productive member. I just think if the user is gonna introduce a new game, the person would be mature enough to make some decent posts instead. Seeing how hes being mature enough to introduce a new game to us. |
