Computer Problem - sndvol32.exe

so this file is missing for some reason and its really annoying me since it means the volume control thing wont show up in the system tray.

i tried looking for my xp cd to reinstall the missing stuff... but i cant find the cd. i actually think that my laptop didnt come with one, i only got a bunch of cds filled with loads of extra crap im never gonna use.

i tried looking for the file online to download it, but all the links people give are dead. so i was wondering, if i just copied the file from another computer would that work? or would that just cause problems?

ive had this problem for like a month now and its really getting on my nerves.

summary: dont have my original windows cd. where can i get sndvol32.exe from?
