So my friends blabbing on about how consoles are better than PCs when it comes to gaming.

so here are his arguments.

Also if you're friend has to look down to see what keys his hands are on, he isn't nearly as much a gamer that he thinks he is.

The PC will always win, infinite and unmarkable content. The average computer will not need to be replaced like a console does every generation. Easy internet access. I could go on and on..

No viruses, but not nearly as many crashes. HDD.. so what? We can have massively larger game content because of it.

Tell me a computer doesn't have beautiful output when you hook that 8100 nvidia gts 4 gig ram max graphic pc game up to a nice hd tv.

You can too dualtask - I can swap b/w game and pr0n and drink my soda. Yes there are huge excess of keys at times but tell me all those hotkeys don't help? Mouse + keyboard > controller in mobility and controllability. Play a shooter on computer ,then on console. Tell me which one has more mobility and more action paced jumped and what not.

Go ahead and take a piss with a controller in your hand... No point as you can't see TV. Its like me bringing my keyboard with me to go and get a snack. Yes it can reach through the wireless but no point.

I don't ever look at what keys my fingers are on for the keyboard... it comes naturally as it does with everyone else. Besides i hate how clumsy most of the controls are on most console controllers, and your hands will often get sweaty/slightly hurting after a while of using the controller. Never happens with mouse + keyboard.

The tactic of using a minuscule and easily comprehended list to 1+ or 1- something is getting old. The PC is the most open ended mother fucker ever. I don't care if I have to slap away at a large board, and move a ridiculous looking slab of plastic and clicky noises around, when I can practically do whatever technology has to provide, and much more.

Use these against him if you want.

Reason 1 - Hes right.
Reason 2 - Wrong. The PS3 and 360 have HDDs.
Reason 3 - Its easy to plug in a monitor. You can get beautiful picture from a good graphics/video card and a monitor.
Reason 4 - Simple, you can upgrade it. That usually isn't possible with consoles.
Reason 5 - Actually, you can.
Reason 6 - I don't know any console game that you only need 1 hand for. Well actually, you could count some Wii games.
Reason 7 - True, but if you get used to the buttons, it isn't a problem. You can also hook up a joystick to it, if your picky.
Reason 8 - I would agree --- sorta.
Reason 9 - What? The controllers?
Reason 10 - Wireless mouse and keyboard, anyone? lol
Reason 11 - Once again, if you learn the keyboard's keys, you would know what is where.
Reason 12 - Xfire.


I am a console gamer, but the PC is a superior weapon for gaming.

- You can use a controller on the computer for gaming. A specialized PC gaming controller, a joystick, or even Xbox 360 controllers.
- If you don't have internet and just use the computer for gaming, the chance of getting a virus is so slim it's almost non-existant. Plus, I'd rather get some harmless potentially unwanted programs over the red ring of death.
- Can't dualtask on the computer? I watch t.v., instant message, and play games all the time. Computers were fucking made for multi-tasking.
- Computers have easy input to, as long as you're not blind. Amazing display on any size screen. You only need 21" to get an incredible display, where as on a console you are always using much bigger displays to get the same quality.
- More keys = Better controls. I could play a game with just my right hand, leaving my left hand free to 'eat cheetos' by setting all the controls to the number pad keys.
- I have a wireless keyboard, I still don't see why I would bring it with me while I take a piss.
- MSN personal messages? Xfire statuses? Those both, along with hundreds of other programs and ways, tell you what your friends are playing.


Now for stuff not related to his reasoning:

- Better content. Take a look at UT3 on the PS3, and UT3 on the PC. UT3 on the PC completely destroys the PS3 version. The PC version has a hell of a lot more downloadable content, and has a much easier way of creating the content. Just make it and you're set, no converting and shit to do.

- Downloadable content on consoles is a joke compared to the PC. You can download some games, some add-ons, some mods, some clips, and stuff like that on consoles. I can download whatever the fuck I want off the internet. I can watch American Gangster before it's out on DVD while playing Bioshock if I wanted to. I can go online, find content, download it, and it's ready to be used. I also have access to tons more free content.

I just like consoles for price. You don't have to upgrade for another 5 years when you buy one.
