I didn't like Talisman (found it much like conquerer really...)

I suggest Shadowbane for something that'll likely keep you entertained until something new comes out. Just keep playing until you get the hang of it (It really isn't newbie friendly, I had no idea what was going on at first) then you'll probably love it for at least a while. Also all skills / most stat points (unless you go -5 at the start) are resetable later on so don't worry too much about that.
