IMHO, if you like playing the game, then play it. Other people shouldn\\\'t really have to bother you with how you live your life.
Some people view playing WoW or MMOs a waste of their time, but I know a lot of people who have made life-long friends and thoroughly enjoy the game. I also have a friend who plays WoW in the weekend with his wife and kid. Not so much a waste of time there. World of Warcraft is just really fascinating; play it if you like it, ignore it if you don\\\'t. |

All mmorpg's are addicting, its just because WoW is one of the most popular ones that it gets the full-force weight of the whole MMORPG addiction arguement. And waste money? How is 10 pounds per 30 days for a great game a waste?! 10 quid is about how much it costs to go to the pub for a night, or a resturant. Health? Not the games fault to be honest. Sure, it has stuff which requires alot of time, but most people can schedule that in with seeing freinds and going out. It's just the stupid people who cant keep track of how they play. And as long as they have a decent health condition, a okay socail life and go to their job and earn a decent income, why CANT they spend alot of time on what they enjoy? Life? Im not even sure what you mean by that. And regardless, if a game like this keeps players attached for three years or more, then its bound to be GOOD.

No one is forcing you to play wow for an entire year. I spend more money clubbing than I do on WoW in a yearly basis. The majority of WoW players do in fact have lives. The entire appeal of wow is that it is an MMO for everyone on any time schedule. The majority of the WoW populace is composed of college students (like myself) and the working class (many whom have wives/husbands and/or kids). I don't understand the relation between junk food and computers..... Unhealthy food consumption is a worldwide problem, it is not directly connected to wow in any way. The whole "Exposure to TV's and monitors can damage your eyes" thing is akin to "The sun can give you cancer" thing. It is possible, but it would require EXTREME exposure. Of course you're going to eventually get tired of wow and retire/delete your toon. It happens in every game. Your not talking about the majority in general, you're just making ridiculous assumptions without any form of factual basis. (Also your grammar is just.....atrocious. What do they teach kids in school nowadays?) To the OP: Yes, wow is worth it. It is the best mmo I have ever had the pleasure of playing (and I have been playing them since Ultima Online). Most of the wow-haters are people who are:
It'd be great if you found someone from your everyday life to play with as well. I raid with, pvp with, and level'd with my boyfriend. Last edited by neomazoku; 05-27-2008 at 10:44 PM. Reason: -=Doublepost=- |

I wasnt saying that people WERENT addicted to these games, but not EVERYONE is, and most of the people ive met on them arent. ANd its not like your paying 120 pounds in one go for crying out loud, 10 quid a month is nothing if your not poor T_T

I think the game is worth it. Also people that say it costs to much there is the theatre explanation. In my view thats 50cents a day. Its no different then buying a soda every 2 days or getting some candy everyday. PVE wise I love the instances and raids. They require teamwork and concentration and that attracts me to this game. I have no clue what you call grind but I've played flyff for the last 2 months where it now takes 20+ Mongs to get 1% at 70. Also as an AOE Ranger soloing is impossible without a FS. In WoW I can solo the whole game or level with a friend. It gives me more options also there is never a lack of quests. If any point on your path to 70 you can't find a quest to do something is wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong but their has only been 1 expansion correct? Have you played any other P2P games? EQ has like a thousand. FFXI has 4. So on and so forth. They are worth it also. It gives craps load of end game content. Its one of the few games you can hit max level and still enjoy yourself. In the end I like the game and will play it on and off for quite a while. I have to hit 70 =P. One large thing I've noticed in this forum is that there are a lot of WoW haters. Most of these people haven't played WoW for more than 2 hours. Quite frankly I don't care what anyone says about WoW unless they have at least a 30 where the content gets good. |
