Holy... Custom Title!?

I got the 360 version of Oblivion some time ago. Now don't misunderstand me, I thought it was a fun game, and I enjoyed it. But compared to Morrowind, it's just got prettier gloss and half the features. The playstyle is the same - which is good - but they cut out most of the skills, factions to join, hell, even different damage ratios depending on how you strike (Thrust, slash, chop). it's like they took their awesomely open RPG, and then dumbed it down for the console-tards, who have been desensitized by Halo.
My question is, did they fix this for the PC version? Or is it just a port?

Well...the PC version is almost the same. However different types of strikes will amount to different amounts of damage, if im not mistaken the 360 version should be the same. However the PC version has one thing the 360 does not, and that is modding. As for skills and factions, there is a controversy going on saying Morrowind is better than Oblivion. Personally I like Oblivion better. Seriously, not every single sequel has to be like the prequel, people didn't want another Morrowind. People wanted another Elder Scrolls game.
The majority of people who dislike Oblivion are either people who haven't played it, or people who have played Morrowind.

PC version>360 version
Pc version you can get alot of player made mods+make mods yourself, the game is gets longer and more fun. against the 360 version which can't look as good as the pc can but gets a steady framerate. But yeah, its a port, only reason I like Oblivion over Morrowind is that I don't like Morrowind's landscape. ~and that npcs are more fun to kill. But really, they didn't purposly dumb it down, It would have been work to add all the stuff Morrowind offered They had to cut levitation so that players couldn't float into the undrendered cities that needed to be separated by a loading screen They had less factions because adding the quests which are more advanced than hunting down a npc that just stood there was harder, not to mention voices. Thanks for the info, I don't think I'll bother then (Since I'd need to upgrade my PC).
As for Oblivion being better or worse then Morrowind, I suppose it's a matter of personal opinion. I realize they weren't trying to just get a beefed up version of Morrowind, but for all I can see, thats what they did, and just cut some of the features. You basically just run around, do quests, and kill shit. Everything is the same, except for a few changes and improvements (And a graphical overhaul, obviously). After being a steadfast fan of Morrowind and loving it for it's huge amount of content (I liked having to choose between long blade, short blade, spear or ax; instead of just "blunt" and "blade"), I was just a little disappointed. As I said, it's still a great game, I just prefer Morrowind to it.

Yeah, well...perhaps the next Elder Scrolls game will be a fusion of both
Morroblivion? I agree with you though, morrowind did have a lot of stuff Oblivion doesn't have.

oblivion for pc is thousands of times better than the console version because of user mods, gfx and shorter load times......the user mods literally can add at least 20+ hours to the game......graphics are way sexier on pc and load times are barely noticable compared to the console version

PC version is better by a thousand. If you have to PC version just go to tesnexus.com (i think thats the name) and you can dl tons of mods. The mods i recommend are:
Deadly Reflexes Realistic Lights (i think thats the name) Beautiful People Mod Realistic Faces and just a bunch of mods that make the game seem more realistic. I haven't played the PC version of oblivion in a while, my computer couldnt handle it so i don't remember alot of the mods i used, but theres mods that increase population in towns and mods where theres no loading time when you go into cities because it makes it part of the open world and all you need to do is open the giant gate. Anyways, PC version, way better. |
