imo VP2 was kinda meh... i actually enjoyed the first one alot better (damn near impossible to get a hold of lol) but i wouldn't choose Valkyrie...its got a good battle system but thats about it....

i would much rather go with Star ocean, the game play a whole is extremely fun and the story to it is quite good and it has one of the better battle systems out of most RPG games released(again my opinion) the downside to me which wasn't that big of a deal was the lack of weapon designs....different names stats same appearance, o well... it is a good game none the less

Yeah you honestly have to get Tales Of Symphonia for GameCube
It's hands down the funnest game I've ever played

Star Ocean is a great game, great battle system, and a good story. Go for it!

It's pretty good, interesting story line, longer than i expected too, pretty well rounded, i fell in love with the battle style when i found the first 2 Tales, i really enjoyed it aswell

What do you mean by "first 2 Tales"? The first two Tales games were Phantasia and Destiny.

Also, ontopic, get Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. The storyline is MUCH better, and it provides a decent challenge. It's not freakishly hard, but it's still difficult enough to provide a challenge.

Star Ocean 3 is also a challenging game, and the fast paced battle system is really interesting. And it's not your usual real-time button masher, either. Button mashing gets you nowhere after the first 1/3 of the game in SO3.

Tri-Ace's RPG's are more difficult compared to other RPG's in terms of difficulty. If you don't want a game that's challenging, I'd advise against picking up either of the above mentioned games and get Tales Of Symphonia or Tales Of The Abyss instead.

Not to sound like a fan boy or anything. I like both XBOX360 and WII but I think you're horribly wrong.

Maybe you haven't played any of the games but I enjoy the Wii more than XBOX most times. And its mainly for the exclusives on the console:

Super Mario Galaxy is awesome! As is Twilight Princess. Ever heard of a little game called Super Smash Bro. Brawl?? This game alone is the reason to own a Wii!

Plus, if you own a Wii you get the expansive GCN library but you get some of the greatest RPGs as Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean, and Tales of Symphonia. Plus little gems from that era (though really few and far between).

Anyways, I haven't tried either of those games but I hear Star Ocean is pretty good. I tried to play it once but well... couldn't find a *cough*...

Plus, Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn Of The New Wortld is coming out for Wii this fall.

And there's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, which looks promising.

Yes, the GB one and the Ps one.. I got Phantasia first back in 96' and i loved the battle system ^^

SO3 isn't that challenging if you've played action rpg's before. Battle system is really fun, and get to do something youself.

I would recommend both games, you need a challenge, it's refreshing ( most games now-a-days are easy if you are a big rpg fan as myself. :P)
