Because I can't afford to play City of Heroes/Villians

I kept seeing City of Heroes/Villains ads and pics. When I saw the game system, I so badly wanted to play it, only to remember that I need to pay good money to play it. The theme of this MMO was something that very few MMos have took interest in, due to the popularity of fantasy and sci-fi genres that everybody takes an interest in. Which leads me to my question.

Are there any MMOs similar to this game that won't cost me anything? The prospect of walking down the streets downtown with a kickass arsenal of weapons waiting for the next Green Goblin while an arcane healer and a psychic police officer deal with mutant outcasts in an alleyway down the streets... I want nothing more than to see more of it!

I don't think so. would be cool though, I checked and couldn't find anything.

The world needs more MMOs like CoH/V. Are all the MMOs being developed around Sci-Fi, Martial arts, or Medieval trends? If I knew a team working on a something similar to CoH/V, but free, I'd be begging them to let me on the beta tester team.
