WoW name change question

when you change your name does it auto update on other peoples friends list that have you as a friend? im curious since when i logged on today it say "player removed because it no longer exist" for one of my friends.
also could this also mean the char transfered?

yes it change auto but it delete ur old name from ur friend friendlist and he have to add u with ur new name and yes it could also mean the character has transfer

if you've transfered you'll be taken off peoples friends list yeah dunno about name change its possible
