When Guild Wars came out i played it and loved it, but i didnt have anyone to play with, so i quit. But now I've decided to start playing again. I went to www.guildwars.com and holy shit 3 expansions!! So the questiong is: Do i have to buy the expansions in the right order? If not which of them should i buy later on? All of them or just one?
Thanks in advance ![]()

No need to buy them in order.
The two other campaigns (Factions and Nightfall) are stand-alone games much like Prophecies, and they have their own storyline. The expansion (Eye of the North) ties up several loose ends from the Prophecies storlyline. If you're looking for a continuation to Prophecies, this is its spiritual successor. In order of purchasing, I would recommend Eye of the North -> Nightfall -> Factions. That's in order of age, Eye being the newest and thus most populated. To be fair, new areas/items opened up in Prophecies and Factions have revitalized the population in these areas. Look around and you can find Eye of the North selling for low prices too. As for having someone to play with, you can join a guild so they'll help you get back up to speed ![]() |

I would recommend getting Nightfall before EotN, because you have to have a stand-alone chapter before you can play EotN, since it is an expansion. Otherwise, I would agree, Nightfall -> Eotn -> Factions -> Prophecies.

personally i would go with Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye Of The North.
Even thought eye of the north is the newest doesnt mean its the most populated, i have all gw games and the campaign i play on the most is Prophecies. Nightfall and Factions just give you extra classes and a new storyline. Yes the stories are cool in those and Factions has the alliance battles and such, but in prophecies you get the feel for the game and can test out the basic classes before you go to the advanced ones (i.e. Dervish, Paragon, Ritualist and Assassin) But playing prophecies is not only a easy start for most people, it is also a good way to get people to join a guild ![]() Last edited by Pitfire : 06-23-2008 at 04:46 AM. |
