Mia spotted a man leaping into a hole he made in the door. From the description she recieved, she could tell by the dark brown hair that fell to his shoulders that he was none other than General Dain. Mia tried to get his attention, but she was buried under a ton of dead bodies. Shifting her body so that she could escape, she took one last look at one girl who had covered most of her body. Even though they were not close, she had dived in the way when they were under attack, all because she got lost and was a new recruit. Luckily, due to all the blood, she was thought as dead, hidden in a corner under all those that tried to cover her.

"Thank you, everyone!" Mia thought before turning around to chase after General Dain.

"Sir," Mia whispered, making sure she was visable and tapped him on the shoulder before continuing to speak. "I am a new recruit on your side. I hope to be of service to you."

Mia noticed the blood on her body and continued, "I had gotten lost and those soldiers protected me. I am not sure if anyone else is alive, but I will feel responsible if I do not help."

"Dont worry, im sure you did the best you could for them. And the soldiers fell in the most honourable way possible, protecting a life." Dain said, his voice deep and reasuring, "dont call me sir, by the way - ranks are mere titles. Call me by my name, Dain. Or you can even think up of a nickname if you like!" Dain let out a chuckle.

Dain saw two relic soldiers, whipped out his pistols, and shot bullets from each of them, one in each head. His aim was un-canny, they were about 10 meters down the hall, yet Dain headshotted both of them perciseley, in the head, in a matter wich looked like it was just a reflex.

Dain was not proud of this. He never did enjoy taking lives, but these brainwashed men and women were trying to rule the world, and that rule was a very cruel one. He couldn't just stand by and watch innocent people suffer.

"Your a really precise shooter, sir--Dain," Mia blushed a bit, feeling odd to call someone so important by just their first name. "My name is Mia Lunielle, by the way."

Looking around through the hole in the door, she turned back to Dain to ask, "You are all alone?"

Mia noticed a man hiding in the shadown of the corner closest to them. It was another Relic, with a gun aimed directly in their direction. Just as his finger quickly pressed on the trigger to send a bullet flying through the air, it stopped, spinned a bit, then tumbled to the ground. Three more bullets did the same thing, while Mia had her hands raised out in each direction, as though emitting some kind of invisible barrier from the palms of her hands. When she lowered them, white veins that were visible a few seconds ago were gone.

Just as the man was loading up his gun with more ammo, Mia whipped out her pistol and fired. She missed the first time, which startled the man, but gave him a chance to shoot. Unable to react in time, Mia leaped to the side to perform a dodge roll, yet the bullet fired still grased her forehead, letting blood trickle down her right eye. Racing forward, Mia managed to strike the man's right hand that was holding the gun and then stab her shortsword (sorry, couldn't resist) just below his chest, so it barely missed his heart. Making sure he was unconscious, she checked his breating, which was steady, yet faint. Before returning to Dain, Mia checked the man to make sure he had no more weapons that could strike her from behind.

"Looks like I am not as careful as you," Mia admitted, taking out a bandage from her pocket first-aid kit and applying it on the wound, so that the blood did not rush down in her eye anymore.

"Im not proud of my ability to kill." Dain responded

Dain looked at the man in pity, "He wont survive the night, the would is too deep and when he regains conciousness it will be a slow, agonizeing death. Pass me your shortsword."

Dain took her shortsword and beheaded the man with a quick swipe, ending his life in an instant. "May you walk the road to paradise, my freind." Dain whispered before standing up.

Jeff and I caught up with Dain and Mia.

"Hey, Dain, we should continue through this base and find a computer. From there, I can probably hack into the data base and find out where the route of the bomb, oh, and, you should be proud of your ability to kill. Killing is the language the Relic's know best, we must communicate with them through that way. Oh, and, next time you see a Relic thats suffering, let it suffer, don't mercy kill, they don't deserve it. Hell, I even carry salt around to sprinkle upon the wounds of the damned dying Relic's. Seeing them suffer amuses me."

We started heading down the hallway...

"Dont hate the relics, hate the man who started it all. I was captured once by these people, and they attempted to brainwash me. I allmost submitted, too. Though i managed to escape. It is no dbout that they are brainwashed at an early age, either that or forced into it. Do not take life so lightly, Max. These are still humans, they still feel pain." Dain said.

Dain was takeing a rather large dislike to max, now. He was annoyed that he enjoyed seeing another human being suffer a slow an painfull death.

"Oh, and let me congratulate you, max. You enjoy seeing - and causing another human being tremendous suffering. Way to go, your such a decent human."

Dain ran into an old woman in the hallway, she was carrying a tray with a few cups of tea on it. Before the relic woman could cry for help from the soldiers - dain swifly did a whack to her kneck, knocking her unconcious, he turned to max.

"Dont you dare think of killing her. Shes an innocent, if you kill her your no better than the men you try to destroy." said dain. His voice sharp.

" Oh, yes, indeed i'm a decent human. Even though these Relic's feel pain, they inflict it on others immorally and without guilt. They all deserve to die. But, lets get off that topic"

We started to head down the hallway. We stopped at a locked door.

"Alright, hold on, let me try and hack this panel, it'll open the door"
I turned to the panel and started hacking it. In less than 30 seconds, I was done "Alright, lets head in".

Mia obeyed and silently handed over her shortsword.

"You know, I too don't--"

Before Mia could continue, she witnessed the beheading of the Relic soldier by her own shortsword. The guy let out an unconscious yelp of pain, like that of when a turkey is beheaded. Blood gushed out and littered all over the darkened ground, becoming large to small lumps on the ground, surrounded by the black substance. The headless body twitched a bit, as though the man had been awake the whole time, and was only faking unconsciousness. The sight was so gruesome that if it were done in a brighter light, Mia would hardly be able to stand. After hearing Dain whisper something, two other men arrived.

"Who are they?" Mia thought after gaining her composure. "Ah! They must be with General Dain--er, Dain."

One of the two, with dark eyes and black hair with blond highlights approached Dain, telling him how he should hack into a computer or something like that. Mia's eyes drifted slowly back to the beheaded dead man before her ears picked up what Max was saying next.

"Is this guy...an assassin?" Mia asked herself, horrified at the heartless manner he was speaking in.

"I did not truly wish to let that man die a slow and painful death," Mia explained, but she knew her voice was too solf to be heard, especially because Dain was talking now.

"Dain...he must have is hands full with Max," Mia concluded after Dain set Max straight. "Would Max really try to hurt someone that innocent, even if she is a Relic?"

Mia awaited Max's reaction to the woman that was knocked out by Dain.

"Oh, by the way, my name is Mia Lunielle, but you may call me Mia--uh, if you like," Mia added, remembering his unemotional response earlier, as though he had no remorse for other human life.

"Now what?" Mia glanced over at Dain, feeling this question appear on her face.

However, the awaited attack never happened. Before she knew it, they were all headed away from the poor woman, with Max committing no act of harming her.
