Well there will always be other ways your opinion on which one works for what type of games though is only your and proves nothing. :P

Its not always the program that determines how good something is but the creator. For example Photoshop is clearly more user friendly (which may lead some to think is better) then GIMP is but that doesn't mean someone that uses photoshop is better then someone who uses gimp. It all depends on the user.

Agreed. Visual Basic is fine for anything that's not too intensive on the hardware side of things, or anything that wants to be cross platform. For most things, C and VB are equal.

On the other hand.... come on. Photoshop and GIMP... they're like... identical . Same level of user-friendliness if you ask me.

Yeah I learned Photoshop and GIMP at about the same pace. I've got a project now.

I still agree with you but half the fun is just trying it. To see if you can do it and how well you do it. Granted thats mainly why I started mine in VB because I was learning VB at the time and the best way to learn is to try something.

just to annoy gauge:

I prefer PS over gimp because, even though gimp is less computer strenuos to run, having to swich between windows just to select a differant layer get annoying after a while and you can't really just use it straight off the bat, the brushes it comes with aren't very good and there's normally some sort of mod you need to get to make it do exactly what you want it to.
