No, I think its because Asia is a really diverse continent and the Japanese really try so hard to stand out and be unique but at the end of the day they still get grouped along with all the other Asian countries, many of which aren't as accomplished or developed. I guess that is probably why they find it offending.

Actually, I think you're partially correct. It has a lot to do with rascism as well as national pride.

I'm just saying that it's funny with this "azn pride", and asian stereotyping going on, when a lot of things both non-asians and "asians" include in their "asian stereotypes" is japanese, and the japanese themselves don't consider themselves "asian" and want nothing to do with being compared to for example vietnam or the phillipines etc.
That's not even taking into acount that most asian countries have completely different cultures, the things they have in common being small stuff like chopsticks and intensive school systems.

You don't see europeans being grouped together as one under the label european in the same way. It is kinda insulting for a person of a certain ethnicity to be put into a group with a bunch of people from completely different countries that don't really have much in common. It's like the saying that all asians look the same.

However, it is also rascism to view all asians as one entity, considering that asia is huge, and very diverse. Besides, the asia people refer to isn't asia, it's eastern asia. Pakistan and india is also a part of asia.

I don't see any pics of turkish or Uzbekistany guys here. They are asians too.

Although, I don't think it's because they try to stand out, but rather that they feel they do in fact, stand out, and therefore it's kinda rude to stack them together with the other countries. But as I'm saying, it's rude to stack countries together no matter what. It's not a matter of japan being more different than the other countries, but a matter of all countries being different to begin with.

We already knew he was referring to eastern asia. You're just making mountains out of molehills. No need to get all butt hurt because we aren't extremely thorough in how we refer to asia. There are just as distinct differences in many "white" cultures, yet we still tend to be considered one entity, mostly in America probably. If someone started a topic titled "Are white guys consider attractive?", people would start posting random pictures of guys that appear to be white, whether they could be from germany or russia or the UK, wherever.

I am half asian. Its a stereotype that we are more attractive. Half of the time people think I'm a light skinned hispanic. I have had no more or less luck with females than anyone else.

Please quit assuming. I was simply stating a fact. No matter how you sugar coat it, refering to large parts of asia, be it eastern asia, or the entirety of it, as if it's the same, is still rascist, or at best highly assumptious and ignorant. Even if we restrict ourselves to only eastern asia, there are still differences both apparance-wise, and culture-wise. That was my point.

Besides, there is a huge difference between the term "asian", and the term "white" since all whites share a common trait, namely being white, but not all asians share a common trait like that. If you create a thread like "is white guys considered attractive", then yes, people will post pics of white guys from all over. However, asia, as said, does not only consist of "yellow" or "slanted eyed" people, just like how all europeans don't have blue eyes and blonde hair. If you're from Bosnia, you'll probably have tanned skin, brown eyes, black hair, and you'll be muslim, but you're still european.

Besides, I was only replying to a post that was aimed at my previous statement - it wasn't a criticizm aimed at anyone in particular, just an observation.
