I hate to agree with Cyber, and under most circumstances I wouldn't, but this time he's got an amazing point. Without those signature characters that you know and understand, you just won't get it.
Like an Orc. Most people know they're large, rowdy, strong, and stupid. But create your own game with a gnomish-looking character that has the same traits and most people would be confused because it's a deviation from the norm. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but the cliches help more than you think. Besides, if races are your chief concern about an MMO then I suggest you do a bit more observation on the stories. They tend to be the EXACT SAME throughout.

i took a look at star wars galaxies, it didn't look grindy at all. it looked fast and fun. maybe it was just because i was playing it on my comp. oh, man. when i saw a video of it's game play, i was stunned. maybe when we get more money, or after my birthday, ill try to talk them into it. but a few years ago when i asked them if i could get a account for toon town (of course, it was a monthly fee thing), and i stopped playing it after a few months. if they let me get a account for star wars galaxy, i got to play it almost everyday to get the most out of it. but that's the dif between ToonTown and SWG. SWG is massive and fast and fun and cool. ToonTown is small and doesn't have alot and is for kids. to be honest, i think ToonTown isn't worth a monthly fee, but on SWG, you can explore, own your own home, dog fight, pvp, i think pk, own your own home and droid, not only mand your own ship, but walk around in it! and more! but im gonna stop accidentally advertise now. im gonna get the 14-day trial of it on my mom's comp while she's asleep. |

I actually found SWG quite grindy, and the quests WAY too repetitive. It also starts off slow in the beginning, trying to teach you everything, and then abruptly leaves you stranded on a planet with no clue what the hell to do.
It was fun while it lasted though, I won't lie. Though a bit hard at points.
