Team name:
We are considering the name Khaos Nation for our game. Brief description: (We just started pulling this project together. Right now we have the classes and the basic ideas.) Bringing the novelty of and mysticism of magic and the sophistication of future technology into a chaotic clash were it is not only the strong that survive but those who can shift and move with the ever changing balance and flow. Three different dimensions of time and technology and life come to a rather jarring change when they collide and overlap. Technology vs magic vs all the demonic hells that go bump in the night. Each dimension separated is a trial in and of itself, but none compare to what it is like when all three dimensions collide and become one. Target aim: Free Browser Based ORPG with hopes of becoming an MMORPG. Compensation: We are offering a percentage of revanue earned from advertising. Technology: Programming: I am hopeing to use a mix of HTML and Javascript as the programming language. But I am new to prgramming as long as it is browser compatable I'm game. Don't hesitate come to our fourm to apply. Graphics: I am an artist myself, I can draw in almost anything. I have my favorites and I'm sure you do too so I'm not going to set limitaions. For the Graphic we prefer a pixel artist but we can use you if you work with 3-d too. Don't hesitate come to our fourm to apply. Writers: Just as long as you can turn it in to digitally editable text. Music: I have no knowedge of music programs. Talent needed: We really need a programmer. I can program in html. And I have a basc knowledge of other languages. I could help. But I really can't do it by myself. We need more artist and writers. Team structure: Currently on our team there are two writers and an artist. I am the Artist and I'm going to be the Admin of Design. As I said before we just started this and there isn't much written down on paper yet. Website: http://khaosnation.invisionplus.net This is the fourm we have been posting ideas on. Please make a note that most of the topics are hidden to members only. Please don't walk away without registering. Contacts: If you'd like more information please contact me at Ivory.Star@hotmail.com or come to our fourm. [link posted above[ Additional Info: Please don't turn your head because we don't have much on paper. We have big plans and the skill to do it. Crumbly, but Good

You mean Java, not JavaScript. There's a BIG difference. That being said, I can't actually think of anyone on this forum who knows Java (I could be wrong), so chances are you're not going to get that programmer here (which is weird, because Java is a popular language). Sorry
![]() That being said, you seem articulate and honest, so I'm willing to help you out. A programmer that can actually write the whole game probably won't usually help you out unless: A] They have massive creative and possibly administrative control over the project (and this won't even cut it for most) B] You're their best friend ![]() C] You pay them. ![]() Chances are, you're not willing to give up adminship, because then it essentially becomes their project, and you work for them instead of the other way around. You wouldn't be asking if B] was true, and I'm guessing you don't have a whole lot of capital. So, pretty much your only option is to hope for a programmer to stroll along and help you guys out (unlikely ), OR you can become a programmer yourself. If you want to learn Java yourself, I can point you in the direction of the Java tutorials online, if you want to learn the language yourself. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/ Be advised though, that learning a real programming language language is like learning an actual language, it takes a lot of time, and a lot of practice. Sorry I don't have better news to give you.

Thank you for the feedback, Eriond.
But actually, I do want to use Javascript. I've worked on other games. And there is one that I really admired and I'd like to base my maps off their's. I talked to some of the programmers of the game and they said they used a combination of HTML, Javascript, and CSS. I have a basic knowledge of most programming languages. I took an introduction to programming class. I know using these languages would be very tedious process; that's why I'm willing to help. I don't know everything about any language, but I'm willing to learn. If there was a programmer willing to help we would be more than happy to have the input in the creative department. We have the basic idea but we are still working on the details. There is plenty left to do. And on the cash statement, no we are poor. But we aren't one of the slaveholder RPG's. We are offering percentage based bonuses to all staff from our advertising revenue. |
