Something about private topics that could be moderated by members right? Yeah that actually sounded like a decent idea maybe as a privilege for members who've been here a certain amount of time and show the capacity to handle that kind of responsibility. They'd have to meet some sort of criteria before being allowed to make a thread like that though. But I dunno. I still see a noticeable amount of flamming and trolling (def not so much as before though) but adding a feature like that would probably inflate some egos and cause problems. If Onrpg can handle it then I'd say "Sure, why not?" but that's something that would have to be tested first. My point however was more directed at the general lack of organization this site has. To me it's a major problem that needs to be handled. I've noticed some people actually started doing IGN threads and posted everyones IGN in the first post. However, specific sections should be made for all games and those threads need to be put in the proper place, not just jumbled together in the free mmorpg section. It doesn't take much effort for members to remember to post in the right section, provided there is one for them in the first place. I've noticed that people have been asking for game meets a lot more. Those are not bad ideas as well but I look at it like this: If the community here can't handle organizing the forum, how do they expect to handle organizing large scale events for possibly hundreads of members? To me what I'm asking for isn't perfection or even close to being a utopia, it's just common sense.

Giving people the ability to create an setting which they can freely discuss a topic without having known disturbances bother them is an interesting idea. The thing is that those with this responsibility would need to remember that they are still a part of a larger community and they are not outside of the rules.

I wouldn't know, haven't seen that happen yet. Maybe the US government should try that though because both parties have valid points in certain areas. There shouldn't be a forum that deals with the issue of pro life only. Pro choice and pro life are the a part of the same issue, people shouldn't look at it as two different subjects in the first place. You don't have one without the other. Two people agreeing on the same issue always doesn't create progress either. As odd as that sounds let me give you an example: If two teams of people both decide they want to solve 2 + 2 = x and everyone on Team A comes up with 3 and everyone on Team B comes up with 5, what good has their agreement with those of similar ideals done toward finding the real answer of 4? Generally speaking though, a forum is a place where various ideas, thoughts, opinions and debates occur. How boring would life be if everyone thought and said the same thing. What would be the point of talking if everyone did? It is because of different opinions that we have discussion in the first place, not because everyone agrees. That kind of mentality leads to it being governed by a single will and that is never a good thing. There is no ideal mentality without balance. One sided ideals are not balanced, and they usually lead to destruction. You can agree to whatever you wish but it doesn't mean something good will come of it. People who have no will of their own agree with everything. Your logic is bordering very dangerous waters. I'd highly suggest you really take the time to think about it carefully and people in history who've have shared similar views and what it lead to. However, that's not to say that people shouldn't have a place to discuss things without people make stupid comments or making unrelated statements to the actual topic which is the whole point to Cinderboy's suggestion of private topics in the first place. The power to discern if someone is contributing to a topic or not and know when and how to take appropriate action is a responsibility that not everyone can handle. All I'm saying is that if this sounds like an idea the staff is willing to try, then I'm all for it; Just be aware that things may get out of hand if they let the wrong people do it. Btw, just because a person has their own personal feelings toward a particular subject, doesn't mean they can't defend or even agree with the ones that are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. Lawyers have to do it more often than you'd think.
