It's actually all about preference.
There's different kind of builds that exist for both jobs.
I'd go for Bow Jester, but you can't use any skills.
Yoyo Jesters get pretty strong after awhile, though.
Rangers..... are rare.
Back when I played, I only had 2 rangers on my list.

Jester, only if you go Yoyo build.

Bj's add dex only, making the crit higher and more often. They do not use skills at all. All they do is knock you back giving them a higher chance to kill you, since they wont get hit...but guess what, they are pretty much done for with just one hit.

Yj's add Str and Dex, Making the crit ALSO higher, more often, and due to str their attack rises, they both get the same skill that adds crit so it doesnt really make a big differece btw them. Plus skills give you even more advantage. HoP is very effective. I myself being an AoE on my BP, having about 10k HP...One HoP got me down to 2k, look through it.

Rangers are good to AoE, thats the only defect that Yj's show...They have no AoE. But that is about it.

Although I got to say, getting a YJ its really hard, and very easy to give up on. Just try it, you might get it and it will be worth it all.

Ranger! Use the class that was designed for bows! Don't take the cheap way out and go bow jester!

Don't give me the "lol BJs get more outta bows cuz of crits" either.

On second thought, wasn't that nerfed?

Yes! another BJ hater! You guys suck.
They were suppose to, but I don't know what happened.

Speculation on Flyffworld is that V12 will nerf BJ's insane crit rate and crit damage, whether through their godly crit equips or otherwise.

they're not nerfed in PVE but nerfed in PVP :S so u cant crit the players that easily any more

But, I like YJ's so much better.
Their use of skills just makes them seem so much better. (:
