As long as your winxp os disk is sp2, you won't have any probs using the windows partitioner during install. (so it can fully allocate all the space on a large drive).

Over partitioning a drive isn't really that useful for home use anyway. Most people aren't going to be dual booting OS's and shit like that. Most of them won't even know how anyway.

I generally just use two drives at home. They are so damn cheap now there is no point in partitioning really. 1 drive fully allocated for windows, the second for file storage.

Simple, cheap, easy and effective... best way for home use.

XP Home is limited to two cores, be it two physical chips, one chip two cores, or one chip and a virtual core.
XP Pro is limited to four.

I've heard lots of people all over the internet complaining about Vista, but every time i rant about it, I get flamed, and they say vista is good, and is gonna be the future in computers.

I think actually, Vista is good, It's just that damn guard that gives people a hard time with half of the downloadable games on the internet.

EDIT: I'm gonna get a new comp soon, and which is better for games? Vista or XP? which is best period?

Vista, seriously, all the people complaining about how they can't get their freaking games to work on vista don't even know how to go to google.com and type in their problem and click on the first result. Vista = DX 10
Vista = Faster OS Speed
Vista = Looks better

You're kidding, right?? faster OS speed... not when the machines have the same specs... try run vista with less than 1GB of RAM...

Looks better... big deal. Use a skin (takes 10 to 40MB of RAM instead of 1G

Speaking of google... Search "directx 10 for windows XP" and see what you get. Example: DirectX10 for WindowsXP alpha
