Vista isnt that bad, I should know since I have Vista Ultimate.
I got a good computer so I can't really see a difference in performance by XP or Vista,
I tested it with all new games so.... <.<
I hate comparing performace with Crysis so. =P

Anyway Vista looks nice and works nice for me.

But Linux will be the future trust me. =3

this is probably just me, but i never encountered any real annoying bugs on vista

i got a new machine (intel c2d e6550, 2gbram, 8800gts) and it runs vista far more fluently then xp on my last machine (intel celeron 1.8ghz, 786mb ram, fx5500) with far more crap on at thesame time

even my friend on his 2.4ghz SINGLECORE cpu (amd le1650 or something like that) 2gb ram and ati x1550 says hes running vista better then xp

in fact he downgraded even to xp last week, and reinstalled vista immediatly back on it because vista ran far more fluently then xp

this is MINE opinion, flame me for it as much as i want

seeing millions of ppl scream that vista is slower is just prebiased, high, drunk or ran it on a 2khz cpu

Well, the main problem that you can have with going from Vista to XP comes from manufacture PCs.
There are a fair amount of systems from some manufactures that do not have any drivers for XP, and only Vista. Often, if you're willing to hunt quite a bit, you can find some other compatible drivers.
But thats not an issue with XP or Vista, but the vendor.
