Default Finally upgrade to xp

Well, vista was annoying the hell out of me so I decided to switch to xp. It took a while to get all of the drivers working properly but I finally did it. Anyway, the only problem I have now is that my took the xp that was installed on my last laptop and put it in my new one and now it's annoying me about activation. Is there a way to transfer it or do I have to rely on other methods?

IONO why people always complain about about Vista. I have had only 1 issue with it which was with GameGuard but hay it's a free game so I don't care. Other then that Vista has worked better for me. As well in the beginning of 2010 Microsoft will stop full support for XP.

Actually the gameguard problem was the reason that I installed xp. Also my system is running much better now that I installed it. The only problem is working out the bugs...like explorer.exe isn't loading properly and somehow I have windows xp professional and xp media center edition both installed for some reason yet xp professional is corrupted

Sounds like you failed your install.
I'd reinstall asap.

Just make sure you format the drive when starting the install. Wipe off all that crap causing problems.

Yeah I wiped my partitions before reinstalling. I dunno, it just set it to boot from the working version.

Then Windows 7 will be released. Shows how significant Vista is.

Start with a boot cd, load DOS and format your HD in DOS (nothing better than the real thing).
Restart the system with your XP cd in the drive and u should be able to install the OS without any problems

And going from Vista to XP is the best UPGRADE you can do to your machine!

Unecessary. Dos boot disk to format.. really wtf.

Windows Xp install asks you if you wish to format, and you can setup partitions within it no problem.

Whats the point of the extra useless dos step?
