Default [Player Suggestion] 5th Class : Hunter

(This thread was intended for the netgame forums, however the post is too large to be posted there.)

Instead of simply throwing out the idea of "let's make a bowman class!" to the GMs, why don't we be a little more creative and actually create the class ourselves?

For starters, I'm on the belief that the use of bow and crossbow as their two weapons is completely outdated. But for starters, we need to name our class in order to make it more worthy of how I'm about to make things work.

The class name will be "Hunter". Now if you know your stuff, you know that a hunter doesn't simply rely on guns or, in this case, bows (this is a game with an ancient Chinese theme after all, you don't see guns back then). The two main weapons of a hunter would be a bow and a dagger. This also spices things up. Much like an assassin, this class has an all ranged half and an all melee half. Let's define some properties.

Bow
1. Slower than the throw rate of a glove. Quite obviously so. Being an archer myself I know how time consuming it is to get those arrows going.

2. Longer range than a glove. Staying true to physics, I'm pretty sure that a string with 40 pounds of pull weight on it is much more capable of shooting something than is the flick of a wrist.

3. More damage than a glove. Imagine a little ninja star sticking into your leg. Now imagine an arrow going through your chest. I don't need to explain anymore.

4. Point blank shots. Like a glove, the bow will be capable of shooting even with monsters directly in front of you.

Dagger
1. Faster than the attack rate of a claw. This makes things more interesting. See the below descriptions to see how this piles up.

2. Shorter range than a claw, but not by much. Yes a claw's range is pretty small but it isn't that much off of a sword in all honesty. A dagger would have smaller range by a fraction to allow for its higher speed.

3. Natural damage weaker than a claw. Please note how I stated natural damage. This means that their skill damage will make up for this loss.

So, the ranged half is slower but stronger than a glove (natural damage), and the melee half is faster but weaker than a claw (natural damage).

In terms of armor, the defense of hunter armor would be between that of an assassin and a warrior. It makes the most sense to have it there.

In terms of HP and SP, a Hunter will have HP growth slightly lower than a warrior and SP growth slightly lower than an assassin.

Now let's get onto business with a skill tree.

Lv 10 - Bow mastery ~ Increase damage with a bow

Lv 10 - Dagger mastery ~ Increase damage with a dagger.

Lv 13 - Quick Draw (Target 2: Consume 12 SP at Lv 1 / 1 second reuse) ~ Shoot an arrow with incredible speed and amplified power.

Lv 13 - Hilt Crash (Target 2: Consume 11 SP at Lv 1 / 1 second reuse) ~ Strike an enemy with the hilt of your dagger, knocking him back into the enemy behind him. (Note: Knockback range on this skill is very limited)

Lv 18 - Arrow Pulse (Target 3: Consume 14 SP at Lv 1 / 1.5 second reuse) ~ Shoot 3 consecutive arrows at a constant pace. (Note: Each arrow has natural piercing. First arrow hits first monster, 2nd arrow hits second monster, 3rd arrow hits third. If there are only 2 monsters, 1 arrow hits the first one and 2 arrows hit the back one. If there is only one monster, all 3 arrows target that one monster. Whether or not monsters are in range depends on initial distance of monsters upon activation of skill and the bow's natural range)

Lv 18 - Dagger Drive (Target 4: Consume 14 SP at Lv 1 / 1.5 second reuse) ~ Thrust into a foe and push him back with you. (Note: Much like Hilt Crash, this skill relies on knocking monsters into monsters.)

Lv 23 - Hamper (Target 1: Consume 16 SP at Lv 1 / 3 second reuse) ~ Shoot an arrow at enemy limbs / stab dagger into enemy limbs to slow their movement and attack speed. (Note: Higher levels of this skill simply reduce movement and attack speed for a longer period of time)

Lv 28 - Precision (Target self: Consume 20 SP at Lv 1 / 5 second reuse) ~ Increase the precision of your attacks, making your chance for critical hits 100% (Note: The higher level the skill, the more the critical damage does. Lv 1 = 100% crit rate, 0% extra crit damage. Lv 20 = 100% crit rate, 20% extra crit damage).

Lv 33 - Sidle (Target self: Consume 10 SP at Lv 1 / .5 second reuse) ~ Slide backwards to avoid harm. This skill also grants temporary invincibility until the end of your dash. (Note: Higher levels of this skill increase distance of backwards dash)

Lv 38 - Survival Instinct (Target self: Consume 25 SP at Lv 1 / 60 second reuse) ~ Be incapable of death for a short period of time. HP will remain at 1 no matter how much damage is received during duration of skill. (Note: Lv 1 = 1 second duration, Lv 20 = 20 second duration).

Lv 40 - Spirit Force (we all know this skill).

Lv 50 - Dragon Strike (we all know this skill).

So that concludes the first level skills for the Hunter class. Now let's move onto Chaos and Order. Since I do not know the cool down time and SP usage of other Chaos and Order skills for other classes, I will have to leave that information blank for now.


Chaos - Predator

Lv 62 - Increase HP ~ Increases max HP

Lv 62 - Increase SP ~ Increases max SP

Lv 69 - Arrow Fissure (Target 2) ~ Shoot an arrow into the ground that then emerges from the ground as a giant blood covered arrow, piercing enemies from below. (Note, aerial monsters may also be effected).

Lv 69 - Blood Streak (Target 2) ~ Unleash a single powerful slash that leaves a glowing blood-red slash effect.

Lv 76 - Bloodlust (Target self) ~ Upon successful attack with skills, recover a certain percent of SP based on attack skill consumption. (Note: Lv 1 = recover 10% of SP used by skill, Lv 20 = recover 30% of SP used by skill. If attack skill does not hit anything, no SP is regained. Also, SP cannot be regained by buffs and support skills)

Lv 83 - Pressure Impact (Target 2 in front and 2 behind) ~ Pull back bow with such intense pressure that its release causes a massive wave of damage to emit in all directions. (Note: this skill uses no arrows)

Lv 83 - Triple Implalement (Target 3) ~ Attack with two swift jabs and one final stronger stab.

Lv 90 - Killing Spree (Target self) ~ Half the cool down time on all attack skills, allowing you to cast skills quicker for a short period of time.

Lv 97 - Devil's Arrow (Target 1) ~ Shoot a massive, dark arrow that impales one monster for intense damage. (Note: Lv 1 = 10% chance for instant kill, Lv 20 = 30% chance for instant kill)

Lv 97 - Shadow Dive (Target 1) ~ Disappear into the ground and reappear in front of the nearest enemy to unleash a barage of slashes.

Lv 104 - Fear Induction (Target many) ~ Send out vibes that paralyze foes and severely reduce their attack and defense for the time they are immobilized.


Order - Nomad

Lv 62 - Increase HP - Increases max HP

Lv 62 - Increase MP - Increases max SP

Lv 69 - Arrow Wave (Target 4) ~ Shoot many arrows at many angles (forward only) to strike many monsters (Note: Skill may hit one monster more than one time)

Lv 69 - Crash Stab (Target 4) ~ Lunge clean through a pack of monsters, stabbing everything once along the way. (Note: This skill has invincibility effect like double slash)

Lv 76 - Renewal (Target self) ~ When successfully landing an attack skill, completely restore HP at a certain rate. (Lv 1 = 1% chance total restore, Lv 20 = 20% chance total restore. This only applies for each CAST. That means one cast = one chance at renewal.)

Lv 83 - Torpedo Arrow (Target 3) ~ Launch 3 waves of double torpedos that slowly accelerate into their foe. A small explosion occurs upon contact.

Lv 83 - Vortex Dagger (Target 3) ~ Throw your dagger with incredible rotation speed to create a tornado that deals high amounts of damage to whatever is trapped in it. Dagger returns to user once the tornado has subsided.

Lv 90 - Overdrive (Target self) ~ Half the cool down time on all attack skills, allowing you to cast skills quicker for a short period of time.

Lv 97 - Heaven's Arrow (Target 4) ~ Shoot a giant glowing white arrow that damages all that it touches.

Lv 97 - Saber of Light (Target 4) ~ Collect light and energy that surrounds your dagger, turning it into a giant blade that is swung in a quarter-moon arc, crushing everything in its path.

Lv 104 - Soul Entangle (Target many) ~ Send out vibes that paralyze foes and severely reduce their attack and defense for the time they are immobilized.

... Dude amazing post send this to the devolopers or something i read through it i couldnt find many errors or probloms they'd obviously spice it down you made it quite nicely however i do feel you might have overpowered it slightly. (IM COMING BACK TO GHOST CUZZ MAPLE SURS, or at least till latale comes out )


I would LOVE to see raids implemented here like a maplestory PQ see something original take the PQ aspect and change it. Of course with the adition of the raid we'd need a priest. The game has potential lets see what net can do with it , they made a new class thats impressive but is that all they can do ?

Well, it actually only took me about 3 hours. It's really easy when you think about "What does every other class have? Whatever they have, don't repeat it for this class".

As for the buffs and support skills, I agree they might be over powered but the skills can always be edited to be on par with the other classes.

Oh by the way epic phail, all mage classes get a heal spell at level 97 or 104. Yeah it's kind of late but I guess it's better than none.

A few days ago on one of the asian versions they released bowmen and gun guys i saw the pics and skills they look pretty kool

its just a waiting game till they come out in ggo

Lv 38 - Survival Instinct-to much OP!!!!!! siriously 20sec death proff? thats op 100% woulda like only like 5sec or so but 20sec to much

anyway this isn't out this is suggestion otherwise other skills are all good and stuff shoulda really make this class
